Hard tails will always be fun. I think because I have rigid frame bikes too it's not hard to love a hard tail. I won't commute to work on my bike, it's a 75km one way trip so I don't want to ride 150km per day. 😜 I will stick to taking my bike with me so I can go for a ride after work. 😊

Depends on your commute.. road bike or gravel bike might be a better option IMO. Hardtail is a great option though if on a budget. Just put some XC tires on or even slics

If anyone is curious...the Continental Double Fighter III 2.0 works just fine on a 29mm internal width rim. Just need to use a tube.

Hardtails are good commuters, just not as good as a full rigid. It's self explanatory why, but both are fun.

I live close to Lyon (50 m to Via Rhona, which allows you to go from Geneva to Mediterranean Sea). I will never go to work with my Orbea Alma : too big risk for accident with cars and to be stolen (main risk by far in France... sadly... don't even dare to use it to buy a baguette).

Fortunately, I have the chance to work remotely most of the time so I can ride it more or less daily.

I bike commute with a hardtail. It’s less efficient than a road bike, but it’s a great workout! If you can commute to and from work on a hardtail, you’re in pretty decent shape!

One set of wheels for the week fitted with Maxxis Torch 29x2.1 tyres (perfect for the road) and another set of wheels with trail tyres for the weekend rides!

Hard tails are perfect commuter bikes IF they’re not branded ones that cost $2, 600+ I used to use my Trek 4300 aluminum bike as a commuter, but I’d never dream about leaving my Trek ProCaliber out of sight, and I can’t exactly keep it at my desk either.

i agree!! I just love commuting with my hard tail . on a race bike you must really be carefull once your gaining speed . just a crack on the road can cause a flat tire . on my hard tail once you go 30km/h the fun just begins !❤❤❤
