Oh, my gosh, Ryan! Back in 1987, I perfected the ability to hit crosscourt, drop-path volley winners!

He won the point because returner pick wrong side for second passing...he had open cross

Another reason that the server’s play was so smart is that he kind of wrong footed his opponent into hitting a backhand rather than a forehand, thus making the next shot easier to handle.

one rule, if it is a weak return, keep it low and in front of you.

good analysis but seriously bad judgement by returner for running around the ball when could have just stepped in sideways to slice an easy winner crosscourt. Running around it to hit a topspin backhand cost him a shitload of time as the ball fades away only to mishit it (clearly frames the ball) and loses the point..and to do what? to send it back to his opponent's strength, his forehand?
