why college is NOT the best 4 years of your life

Hi friends! As I started college, I found myself not really that happy or fulfilled. And it was only during my junior year of college that I realized that my vision of college being the best four years of my life set up unrealistic expectations that were never met. I was so blind-sighted by all the fun people seemed to be having on fb and instagram that I felt so unhappy with my life. This video is really just to share what I've realized and how you can definitely enjoy college without thinking it's going to be the best four years of you life. I hope you found this helpful!

I wish I knew this when I graduated high school. I have roughly 1 year left and its been the most miserable and lonely years of my life. I'm glad I'm getting my degree in Mechanical engineering(as long as I don't mentally don't break before then) but these lonely nights of depression and anxiety have been the worst, and my god I'm so sick of solving equations!! I think I've had quite enough of being a student and I want to just get the hell off this campus and find something more interesting to do with my life.

i’m researching college myths to make a video on the subject, and i cannot agree more with everything you said! in college i’ve learned that friends pass and i’m the only one who’s always going to be there for me, which may sound depressing, but it gives me comfort. i’ve also learned that the “perfect friend” doesn’t exist and i just need to show love to those around me, even if they’re not the people i expected to be friends with

I will be a junior next year and have not made one single new friend... literally not one. On top of that I do only have one friend from high school and she is great but of course she's made different friends and other obligations so it basically feels like I am alone. Everyone I know says "it's so easy to make friends" but I literally can't. I'm pretty sure I have a Social Anxiety Disorder but it's too much money to go to therapy or get medication or even tested for it. In the end it just sucks I am coming up on my third year with no new friends.

This is true. College is miserable. Im computer science. The stress is unbelievable. I can't wake up and feel like i am alive.

I did military. Military is way better. You get paid to learn. Civilian life sucks.

I went to a community college and it was stressful when I studying art on zoom. I cried a few times because I was going through my own problems. College isn’t for me.

I move into my dorm room in 10 days and start college in 13 days I’m so nervous because I feel like my roommates won’t like me or won’t associate with me just kinda be there and I’m not really the most social kind of person and I just don’t know how I’ll be in college without knowing anyone there I’m kinda having second thoughts about this even though I really do want to go on to further my education I kind would like to know someone idk
