What bugs me the most is that they offer a service (Pokémon Home) that YOU MUST PAY FOR to have your Pokémon sit there and rot until they can be brought back years later. In other words, Game Freak is literally holding your Pokémon hostage. Also, you CANNOT return Pokémon back to where they came from (e.g., you transfer Pokémon from Gen 7 to home). They CANNOT go back to Gen 7, and CANNOT go up to Gen 8 unless they're in the game. This is NOT okay.

It's also an issue since they were on record saying how they "future-proofed" pokemon, making sure ALL pokemon was a high def model so they only needed to downscale them depending on the game, and they used these future-proofed models in sword and shield, which meant they already had all the models for every pokemon ready to go

Okay this is a huge yikes. I didnt care about dexit all that much at first but i hadnt realized just HOW many pokemon they were cutting like holy shit that is just not okay. I thought they were just getting of maybe a 100 or so pokemon no one cares about. not literally OVER HALF THE ENTIRE DEX. Thank you for making this because it made me look into the issues with the games more and now I'm not buying them.. (for now, anyway)

I don’t care that much about the national dex but you made really good points! I remember transferring my pokemon up being important to be but i haven’t done it since x and y so i forgot about that whole element of it!

Good god, i'm so glad i found your channel. Ever since i was 6 there has been 3 games/series that mean more to me than anything: the sonic adventure series, specifically 2, the pokemon series, and the legenda of zelda (though zelda i'snt relevant to this point.) I'm 24 now but these games still mean the world to me and i'm so glad i found someone who they (most importantly SA) mean so much to as well. I think i'll be a lifelong fan.

The game we all need now should add no new pokemons at all.

Keep the current ones, unite all great features (pokemon fellowing/playing with; seasons; weather; battle challenges; etc.) In one game with a better story, maybe new legends.

Remember the rumors before X/Y about Pokemon +/- ? With the cult thinking each person is bound to a single pokemon for life and they brainwash your rival, thinking, they are bound to a legend bringing a new world order?
THAT would habe been amazing as a story!

I think you should have compared them to the Gamecube games (Colosseum and Gale of Darkness) instead of to Battle Revolution and Stadium, since those games had practically nothing to work on, besides having fancy models and animations. The Gamecube games had to balance the models and animations alongside the story mode, dialogue, and cutscenes; so it would be a more fair comparison.

Also the scaling on the Wailord in the Gamecube games compared to SwSh lmao

What’s worse in concept I understand the cut as with nearly 1000 mons it was getting harder to properly balance the game and was holding back production values

However given the game only looks slightly better than on 3DS and the fact Dynamaxing was banned by Smogon within a month of release its clear Game Freak failed at both goals

There is a lot to be said about the games of yesterday. Each generation brought something totally new to the table, from the day/night system of Gen 2, to the Pal Park of Gen 4.
The decline started in Gen 6, when training Pokemon became far less of a challenge. Speaking as a Trainer from the Gen 2 days, the series is noticeably going down in quality. At this rate, I'm not sure if I want there to be a Gen 10...

I'm personally really bummed we didn't get new animations for the Pokemon. As a kid who grew up with Pokemon Stadium, I was really excited to see the main series jump to 3D. But the Sixth Gem models just felt lifeless (and in some cases, ugly). I really want new models so every Pokemon's idle action can ooze personality just like Ludicolo's current one. Now there's a model worth reusing 👌

I'm a Living Dex collector, so I don't think it's a stretch to say that the interconnectivity of the franchise up to Gen 7 was a huge pull for me, to the point where it made a lot of the post-3D games shortcomings a bit less harsh for me. Heck, I even started a new Dex after my Pokemon Y corrupted due to the infamous Tower glitch. I'm really not on board with the direction were heading right now, but I do feel that there's a lot more to worry about with the games than just Dexit. Even just looking at leaks and streams, it really seems like the games are lacking polish, to the point where it's missing basic things that even Let's Go added, such as over world Shinies being visible.
