This is why pilots are paid so much, they are trained to not only fly us around the world but to get us there safely.
Captain Sully, his first officer & cabin crew did just this.
Hats off to all of you, very well done. Outstanding.

Capt. Sully was also the last person off that plane having walked the isles making sure everyone else was out before he left. He did this despite the fact it was taking on water and starting to sink fast. Absolute legend.

You have no idea how good you are at these animations. Every single time you tell the story like it is, while teaching a thing or two about aviation. I am a fan of your work.

I didn't realize that Capt. Sully was an experienced glider pilot. That had to help him land the plane. It was definitely a glider that day!

Now this is the kind of reaction you want from a flight crew. Size up situation, make clear cut quick decision and then execute plan without panic. God bless you Sully!

My favourite part 4:33 "my aircraft" "your aircraft". Now that is a man on a mission. He is taking charge, and he knows he is able to take responsibility for the lives on board. What a great pilot.

I'm not afraid to admit that after all these years, remembering when this actually happened, reading all the coverage about it, this video still made me emotional.

Big shout out to the ATC controller as well. He tried everything to provide other runway for the emergency landing.

The one video on this channel I can watch without being a nervous wreck.

Capt. Sully and his family lived about 5 miles from where I live when this happened. Our whole San Ramon Valley is so proud of him. I saw him in the car next to mine while out running errands about a year later. It was like seeing a movie star or something. The calmness of he and his first officer struck me the most. It was like they were making lunch plans. Sully's wife referred to him as a "pilot's pilot". Indeed.

That captain was hella determined to land in the Hudson, and that's what made everyone survive. His quick decision and sticking to that meant that no lives were lost. Amazing.

I live in New Jersey and I remember this. News spread everywhere. Along the Hudson we went as we watch the clearing boats and excavation of the airplane. Take a moment to salute Sully, a hero to over 150 people

Probably the most famous utterance of “Unable” in history.

Such a calm “we’re gonna be in the Hudson”

I like the way Sully had no hesitation in deciding what to do, right from the get-go. He was offered several runways, but said right away "we're going in the Hudson". cool, calm, collected.

"we can't make a runway"

Atc:"OK so which runway do you want?"
Lol.
