Putin Warns Russia Will Not Be 'Isolated' From the West

President Vladimir Putin said Tuesday that the Russian military action in Ukraine aims to ensure Russia's security and vowed that its goals will be achieved.
Speaking Tuesday on a visit to the Vostochny space launch facility in Russia's Far East, Putin said that the campaign was aimed at ensuring Russia's own security.
Putin argued that "we had no other choice" and said that "there is no doubt that we will achieve our goals."
The Russian President also said that his country is "not going to be isolated", arguing that Russia has no intention to isolate itself and that foreign powers wouldn't succeed in doing so either.
"It's certainly impossible to isolate anyone in the world of today, especially such a huge country as Russia," he said.
Putin added that "we will work with partners who want to cooperate."
The leader's visit to Vostochny marked his first known trip outside Moscow since Russia launched military action in Ukraine on February 24.
He toured the space facilities with close ally Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko.
