The best strategy for this challenge (in my opinion) is to give Applin egg moves so it has Defense Curl, Recycle, Rollout, and Sucker Punch. D-Curl (unlike withdraw) will double the power of Rollout. Sucker Punch is stronger than Astonish with the same type coverage, while also being a priority move that can hit normal types. Give Applin Ripen with a sitrus berry so that it can recover half health at half hp, as well as Recycle to repeat this forever (as an answer for not being allowed to use healing items in battle). Or you can swap out Recycle for Attract if you want to put an Eviolite on it instead.

Truly I love Applin and Appletun, but training Applin to stay the same levels as the rest of my team until I could evolve it is one of the hardest things in Pokemon I’ve done lmao

It also didn’t help that for my second run I wanted all my favorite Galar Pokemon I couldn’t have the first time, so I also had a Toxel and Snom for a large part of the journey, truly harrowing

i know you already did the challenge..but something that'd probably of made it a lil easier was if you had Applin with defense curl as well as Rollout since pokemon can be breed with multiple egg moves.. anyways defense curl is important cause it doubles the power of rollout thus making it a 60 power rather then 30 giveing you a 120power base move by the 2nd rollout rather then the 3rd that it'd normally take

also you'd only need to use defense curl once per battle as even if rollout misses it'd still stay at the 60power base for rest of the battle so overall it'd speed up the process
