Alcohol Consumption | Dr Santhosh Jacob's Advice

Alcohol is injurious a to health and my medical advice is to not consume alcohol if possible .
In case you cannot avoid consumption especially in summer ,these are a few tips which could reduce the damage alcohol could cause
1. Avoid brown alcohol , white alcohol like vodka & gin are better choices . Brown alcohol has malt which has a higher sugar content , more empty calories and causes more dehydration.
2. 30 ml drinks with a tall glass with lime and water or soda . Do not fill the glass with ice as it reduces the water content in your drink.
3. Keep drinking water between alcoholic drinks .
4. Avoid sugary cocktails or carbonated high but empty calorie mixers like 7 up or Coca Cola .
5. Stop with 150 ml or 5 smalls of any alcohol you consume in a session .
