Yep! Folk metal. It's actually a massive genre over in Europe, with a wide variety of sounds based on the country/region. Check out the song Trollhammaren by Finntroll for a totally different take on folk metal.

I love Eluveitie, one of my favourite bands. A band that is damn good live. Another song of Eluveitie that is recommended would be Rebirth, the song would be with the new new singer Fabienne Erni. Another band I have discovered recently would be FROZEN CROWN an Italian Power Metal band with a very good female vocalist. I would recommend the song Neverending.

Annah Murphy and some of the other members left to form Cellar Darling, Fabienne is the new vocalist and Michalina is the new Hurdy-Gurdy player

How did I miss this video!? Awesome reaction to one of my favorite bands. They have so many great and interesting songs that you can't really go wrong with any of them. I would absolutely love to see you react to them again. You just look like you have so much fun with it. Just awesome to watch. Keep it up!

Du sprichst uns allen aus der Seele und darüber wie sich das Herz fühlt.

The singer here, Anna Murphy, has her own band now, Cellar Darling. Try their song Avalanche.

And the line between rock and metal is pretty blurry - lots of crossover. Black Sabbath, Motorhead, and Halestorm are all straddling the line. Halestorm's Lzzy Hale calls the band hard rock, yet she's also high on the list of female metal singers.

Just saw them last night in Worcester, MA. Of course with a different line up than is in this video. They are still an awesome band. You should check out Cellar Darling....The girl singing here, plus the drummer and the guitarist with short hair. They all left the band in 2016. I got to see them live last year, opening for the band Katatonia. 😁

Love your reactions! New sub! The flute like instrument the guy is playing is an Irish Tin Whistle. As to the line between Hard Rock and Heavy Metal, there is a lot of grey area there, and it can really be pretty subjective depending on the individual too. To make it even more confusing, the line is constantly shifting. Many songs that were considered heavy metal 30 years ago would be considered hard rock today.

Something even more amazing about this song is that when they play it live they ask the crowd what language they want it performed in. They do it in four different languages, including Old Gallic, which is a dead language that no one speaks - but they'll play the song in it!

Rock and metal are very similar, but I tend to differentiate them based on the technicality of the guitar and drums and the tone of the instruments. Hard rock and heavy metal are very similar in ways, but when you get deeper into the subgenres of metal, they are a lot different than just your basic or modern hard rock.

I've completely forgot that this band existed(probably because I don't really listen to folk metal)... But their are a few folk metal bands that i like:
• 和楽器バンド(Wagakki band (translates to "traditional Japanese instrument band")) - 千本桜 (senbonzakura (it translates to "one thousand cherry blossoms")) (folk metal)
• Nine Treasures - Bodhicitta (folk death metal)
• Unlucky Morpheus - 滝谷者姫 (takiyashahime) (gothic folk death metal)
• Brand of Sacrifice - Eclipse (Blackened electronic slamming folk deathcore)
• Warkings - odin's son (Viking death metal)

Also, with the band I will have in the future I will lean a little bit into folk.

Since Eluvetie are from switzerland they have a version where they switch between all of the languages spoken in switzerland which are swiss german, french, italian and english. Eluvetie actually is the gaelic/celtic name for Helvitia/Switzerland

Haven't seen this as an Eluveitie first time reaction in awhile, usually it's Rebirth. Saw them live back in 2019, would of saw them again this year, but we'll you know. Great show to go see.

Yep! It's Folk Metal. Eluveitie are a Swiss folk metal band. In Europe and a little everywhere in all corners of the world there are Folk Metal bands or bands with Folk influences on them. And, like many others genres of Metal, there are bands in the genre that sound completely different one from another. If you listen to the songs "Bloodywood - Yaad" from India and you listen to "KORPIKLAANI - Vodka" from Finland you will see that they are different. Or if you listen to "Arandu Arakuaa - Aruanãs" song from Brazil and "Wagakki Band -- Senbonzakura" from Japan they are completely different style of songs. That's the beauty of Folk Metal in my book.

Tia - Anna (vocals), Ivo (white guitar) and Merlin (drums) are now together as Cellar Darling. You should also check out a live version of this with Fabienne, Anna's successor. She and Jonas (Ivo's successor) have their own side-project, Illumishade. 🤘
