German Economy Minister Robert Habeck is in China to discuss trade relations, but a planned meeting with Premier Li Qiang (LEE CHI-ANG) was cancelled at the last minute without explanation. The cancellation comes amid growing Chinese anger over EU plans to increase tariffs on Chinese electric vehicles. Habeck said the EU was open to negotiate but said China's backing for Russia's war on Ukraine was what was really damaging trade relations. DW’s China analyst Clifford Coonan has more details.

it was cancelled because the german minister gave an lecture on child labor and slave labor in china. which is not a real issue. without ever having providing evidence or even set foot in the any factories which said accusation is taking place. He was basically parroting c.i.a talking points. The chinese saw this and was predictably upset by the hostility and cancelled the meeting.
