If there was a local butcher, I'd make this. Can't trust stores nowadays.

I am mongolian and I have never heard of eating raw meat like this. We always cook it well because the free ranging grass fed livestock tend to get sick or can transfer other diseases to humans.

This recipe needs a BIG disclaimer. **ONLY** buy meat from a trusted local butcher, NOT from a supermarket or a franchise where you cannot see how the meat is cut.

As a Mongolian, uncooked meats are unheard of for me. The way I always had any meat, beef, game or lamb, it was always cooked to well done and crispy.

Only youtube short cook I've seen so far that's actually featuring mongolian food besides the mongolian people. Keep spreading that knowledge my man 👍

It’s a breath of fresh air to see a beef tartare video where the comments are not all making fun of it being raw

There’s something magical that happens with raw beef and cheese. In Ethiopian cuisine they have Kiitfo, which is typically minced raw beef mixed with ghee and spices. It can be served with a soft curdled cheese, so good.

They actually used to consume them as sandwiches! -the Mongolians that is. They were used as an easy snack on horseback because of how convenient, handheld, and packed with protein they were! Thanks TTU history dept.

this looks amazing, but also one of the frenchest dishes i've ever seen--legit thought that was brie and baguette slices at first

As a Mongolian person, I ain't ever seen raw meat eaten like this around here. Also mate, not trying to be rude but your boortsog can be big, small, whatever but you gotta slice some holes in it. I reckon you got lucky but if you were making a lot of boortsog at once, you'd have firecrackers without the holes
