It *is* pointless though not for the reason he gives. You have 2 options and they know you only have 2 options. No matter how bad they are, people have a short memory and they'll be back within a term or two.
Hell, most Americans think our presidential elections are based on a popular vote IE Whichever guy more people vote for wins. Nope.

The title is misleading. If you see other interviews from him one can see he cares about political and socioeconomic issues.
I think what he is saying is that people should be more involve and be more knowledgeable about who they are voting for and about what issues affect them as citizens.

I like Russel Brand and I believe in most of what he stands up for, but he is really cocked up.. When you are a guest on a talkshow, you need to let the host talk. I'm guessing that's the reason they didn't post more parts of the interview with him.

The vote, is the only power that the common people have.

When you can't lobby, or donate millions, what you have left is that single one vote that you can cast.

And that is the only thing that every citizen has, is that power to vote.

And Russell Brand wants you to throw that away and not use it.
