4.Kamburu Power Station

5.Turkwel Hydroelectric Power Station
County West Pokot
River Turkwel River
Commisioned 1991
Power Capacity 106MW.
Turkwel Gorge Reservoir behind this reservoir is applied in irrigation and fishery development.
6.Kiambere Hydroelectric Power Station
Counties Embu/Kitui
River Tana
Commissioned 1987
Power Capacity 165MW
Cost 95m USD
7.Gitaru hydroelectric Power Station
County Embu Machakos
River Tana
Commissioned 1978
Capacity 225MW
Kenya's hydroelectric power potential is only partially tapped and it is expected that by 2030, Kenya's Hydroelectric Power Potential will increase from the current 800MW to around 1100MW, accounting for 5% of the power capacity of the country from Hydroelectric Power at the time.
Kenya, nonetheless is ardently prospecting for renewable energy.
