Growing up as a kid I wanted to be a DJ and coming home from boarding school on the weekends, I would tune in on Friday Nights to the Midnight Special with Helen Reddy and Wolfman Jack. My dream came true back in 1975 playing at WJPS 1330 AM Radio and playing these great songs.

The soundtrack to the story of my childhood and early teens
I was born August 20th 1961.
My favorite era was between the years 1968 and 1978. The music of that 10 year span is without doubt the absolute best!!!
Unlike today's music, it had soul, substance, and deep meaning.
It meant something.
It's timeless!
53 years and we're still listening.
53 years from now no one will even know what a Beyonce is let alone "who" a Beyonce is.

The best compilation I have heard. And I have listened to most of them now. I remember 30 yrs ago listening to oldie stations and hearing a song for THE FIRST time since I could remember on the radio in the 60s/70s. Hearing one now. It Dont Come Easy by Ringo.
