I turn 57 on the 17th, I'm heading back to the skatepark and doing airs now because of this video.😊 To me the easiest tip to get started doing airs is to do a bunny hop when I am on the ramp.😎

One of the most complete tutorials I've seen on this subject.
I'm at the stage where it seems like I've done all the steps you mentioned, now I just need the courage to go beyond the cooping.

FFS lads! I just spat tea over my laptop screen when it cut to Matt lying on that ramp at 1.02. Just slayed me! :D

You guys make BMX biking look so fun! I'm just a beginner mountain biker, so I start trying both!

I can't wait! Your technique is so much simpler and more helpful than pretty much everything I've ever watched on the topics. The Loam Ranger is the only one I can think of that has had a few videos that are also so simple and effective like yours.

Got into BMX last year at 30, and bowls/transition has become my bread and butter. Definitely took a lot from this video as someone that hasn't made it over coping yet.

cool thanks guys! I've been stuck trying to get the rear wheel to stay on the ramp to the coping. Will revisit the ramp and apply your suggestions!

Y'all are a breath of fresh air! I've raced downhill bikes for so long, and am just getting into more park riding with my dirt jumper! Here's to many crashes as i learn!

My goal height, to the moon. It's never enough. Cordova seems to just float away, so smooth.

Thanks for this! Awesome to have Cordova as a teacher. Love for all the Fast -n- Loose guys, they absolutely roast transition! I just turned 47 and have been working at airing for a couple years now, but just can't seem to progress to bonking the rear tire off the coping. I feel I'm always pushing out more than up and the few times Ive committed enough to just barely bonk coping with my back tire I case back in. Pulling the bars towards my waist and keeping my torso perpendicular are tips I havent caught before so now I'm anxious to get to the park and work on adjusting and progressing. Thanks brothers!

Great tutorial, airing a quarter is one of the best feeling things u can do on a bike. This video has made me wanna get the 20" back out again been spending too much time on big bikes

This was helpful. Thank you. I have been riding BMX for a long time, but quarter pipes have just never been my jam. I crashed when I was 17 and broke my nose trying to do a drop in. I am 57 now and the last couple of years I have really been trying to air above coping. For me, I know a lot of what to do, but my fear gets the better of me. I can now do a couple of inches above coping and earlier today I was focusing on hitting both my front and rear tire on the coping. What I was doing was as soon as my front tire hit the coping I would start my pop so the rear wheel was always leaving too soon. So today I actually felt my rear tire hit a couple of times. I feel like a stepper transition has always made it easier. I used to do airs on an 8 foot that went right to vert. I could only ever get about a foot or two out, but I was always scared and thus too stiff.

I liked a few of the pointers here and I think as my front wheel comes off the coping I need to pull my bars back towards me to get the pop and keep the rear tire on the transition, not much different that when jumping.

Ive aired once on an 7ish ft quarter after deciding to just hit. Havent aired since been off the bike for a while getting back to it just need to commit to tyres both hitting coping not just my front, back to the smaller ones for me cant wait thanks for the video!
