For a lot of beginner riders, keeping your weight centred over the top of your board while carving can be a bit of a challenge. Without the right technique this can cause you to slip out onto your bum and in a lot of cases hinder your snowboard progression. Take a lap with Nev and Dan as they give you some tips on improving your heelside turns and building that confidence while carving!

This is the single most useful snowboard video I have ever seen and I watched them all, incredible gamechanger for me just went from a advanced beginner to good intermediate after applying this technique, thank you so much every instructor should watch this cause I had lessons but nobody ever told me this!

I had this same issue, kept skidding/chattering on tight heel edge turns, made this correction over the weekend - what a difference!

You should add a tip jar to your profile. Thanks for the great video.

This MADE my riding so much more secure. One seemingly small thing completely changed my boarding security. I used to hate my heel side, and just rock out down the hill on my toe side as much as possible. THANK YOU!!!!

Your pointers are right on! Every new ski season I rewatch these videos as a reminder. Thank you all!

I've had this issue for years. I'm gonna try to fix it this weekend

Woah!!! One of those corrections that once you get, you get insta-better, so cool to see him implementing it right away, and how much better he is on his heel edge than his toe edge now!!

This is a really good tip for newer riders. I used to have that chattering issue a lot and the bending of the knees helped out so much

I can't believe something so simple just blew my mind. Nev is the best instructor (of anything) that I've ever seen. I'm so thankful for this channel.

32 years of boarding & for some reason last 3 days, 3 heel slips & butt check to the ice! Ouch! Totally going to try this. Thank you! 😊

Thank you! I just spent 3 days boarding with virtually no chattering, no slide outs, and finally able to be in control and confident on intermediate runs. I had seen the point made in a few other videos (including by SA) but it didn't sink in until this video.

Excellent short and to the point video! Learning how to carve properly (applies to 90% of skiers too) and being able to use your snowboard ( heel back, toe straps, edges, etc.) the way it was designed to be used is so important. His video on toe-side turns equally outstanding. Whistler seems really nice. Future trip out there soon.

Nev, this is awesome. Tried it today and no more biard chatter, no more sliding on my ass when on my heel edge 😅 Thank you a lot for this small but powerful tip!
However, all others, be warned: your thighs will be on 🔥 🔥 🔥

I just found this channel, excellent work guys! I’ve been riding for 25 years and I’ve found a ton of little nuggets in your content that has improved my riding and helped me shed some of the bad habits I picked up along the way. Thank you!

I had issues when coming out of my heel turn and traversing on my heel side. Always kept skidding which made changing edge so much harder. It took me a few times to get it right, but when I did, I suddenly felt like I was in complete control. Incredible advice!

I didn't even know I was just leaning on the heel side until I watched this video. No wonder I kept chattering on steep heel side turns.
