not bad.. the intel chips re so outdated in the low, mid end. iPad Pro 2020 outperforms my MacBook Pro in a lot of ways.

Apple has not recently decided this, Apple has been planning this for at least a decade, it was inevitable, Apple always wants a supply of new chips on its own timeline, it doesn’t want to be at the mercy of another company, so you can be sure that Apple has been planning to cut out other companies too - just like AMD. It is just merely a coincidence that Intel is doing poorly (and not that poorly considering it still holds majority of the market in servers and PC’s compared to AMD) Apple is switching, because it was always planning on switching. It also takes more than just 2-3 years of planning to develop a radically new high performance architecture, you really can’t just scale up a phone chip or oc it and add a cooler - I mean you can but it will be a massive pile of crap.

I wouldn’t worry about intel. Who has $45k for a Apple desktop?

This guy: "Intel does better job than Apple potentially would on high end graphics in the Mac Pro"
Everybody: Wat! You can't even buy a Mac Pro that doesn't have at least 1 AMD Radeon GPU.
You think you're gonna pay $10k and use intel HD onboard graphics? No.
This guy again: Making an actual big desktop processor is way different than making a puny mobile processor.
Everybody: DaFuq is this guy on? Who says it has to be an x86/x64 chip? And even if it was why would that be more difficult? Look at ARM64 running Windows10.
This guy is either hating or guessing. Totally underestimating Apple's ability and I doubt he even knows what a GPU is.

So are those ARM chips? Can we get some technical infos on Bloomberg *Technology.*

Apple would likely not develop new lines of Mac on Intel if they release ARM Macs, it would be a bad move, people would not buy them for fear of loosing OS support on x86 too soon.

As I understand it, Quallcom is going to be making chips for Apple's 5G phones. Is that included in the new Apple chip?

Think of quantum computing or when we can replace microchips altogether.

Just wondering if the pricing will go down

Wait.. Are you saying Apple will do this in-house? Like the A11 processor? Reduce costs internally but keep it high for the consumer.. Shi* making all kinds of efficiency gains

So does this mean that the apple's products will get cheaper for consumers.

Apple sux, no matter what chip you put inside it... FYI it's not a big loss for Intel, because they barely made any profit on Apple - they negotiated rock bottom prices. 👍
