My boss (boomer aged conservative) is uncomfortably *OBSESSED* with immigration. He brings the shit up in random ass conversations. He went to our union meeting a few weeks ago and said people got pissed at him for talking anti-immigrant rhetoric 🤦🏾‍♂️. Which I guess was kind of refreshing considering that I on of many union guys, from various unions that are virulent xenophobes that I bump heads with all the time. Worse than my boss even.

I believe that global racial integration will be a good thing - it's a genuinely good thing to have people from Africa or Asia move to Europe precisely because many European (or US) problems are caused by nationalist, supremacist, and colonialist views and the antidote to those problems is to bring the perspectives of the Global South into the Global North.
The problem with this is that it's causing a backlash among nationalists and supremacists as they're losing power. It might get ugly, but I think we're well past the era when things could go completely off the rails. But I'm opposed to changing the rules to coddle the very people who need to learn some harsh truths in this world.

Is this a "problem"? I think it is an opportunity to have a lot of older, sheltered white people finally mature, finally learn that their perspective isn't the only one in the world.
