Hey Matt! "How to talk to a real person at Amazon" might be a fun "tips" video. I did once accidentally order a 2nd copy of a Blu-ray movie that I found out I couldn't return without paying almost as much as it cost. I found that calling Customer Service directly & explaining the issue will almost always result in a refund & no shipping fee.
But, getting to the customer service number is a feat in itself :)

If it was sold by Amazon, just select that the item is defective, etc. to get free shipping. They don't check the return and just toss them into a pile that ends up being sold as a lot on eBay.

I’m trying to return a product purchased on Amazon from another party located in China. My issue now is in communication with the seller. Seller is wanting to only refund $5 when product was $25 plus $5 shipping fee. Very frustrated. Product was not at all what was depicted in the picture. Poor quality as well. All other things purchased this season were deal links I used via your emails and videos. All that stuff is perfect! Live and learn I guess. Thanks for all that you do for us!!!

I’m about to cancel my Amazon Prime that I’ve had for years. Two day shipping has turned into weeks and next day has delivered into two or three day delivery. Why pay the extra fee?

Another way you can return the items without paying a shipping fee on Amazon is drop it off at your nearest Kohl’s store they except returns on Amazon’s behalf

Make sure it says sold by so and so and fulfilled by Amazon. If it's not fulfilled by Amazon you will sometimes have a problem because you have to deal directly with that company for the return-very important to pay attention to that.

Great video!! I buy just about everything from Amazon and feel I return more than most people. Is there a point where Amazon would cancel my account because I've had too many returns? I assume they don't track my free returns because it says it's free, is that right? I always print a UPS return label and take it to a UPS store and never check off not needed knowing there would be a return charge. Would it be less of a problem for Amazon if I took it to Kohls since I'm sure the return cost is much cheaper for Amazon that way. Thanks!

If you have a Kohl’s nearby, you can return Amazon items there. It’s quick, easy, and you’re usually refunded within 24 hours. Plus you get a Kohl’s coupon for 25% off! Just did this a day after Christmas (2019)!

I used the reason "not as described" once due to information listed in the Q & A section of the product. This was a laptop listing that did not specifically state it was backlit, but an answer to that question was posted which stated that it did. Returning it saying "I didn't like it" would cost me to return. Using the back button and saying it was "not as described" made it zero. I did put the specific reason online and in the box. I did end up buying from the same seller again with a great experience. I do recommend buying what you like and not returning things on a whim. My return was necessary because I had to have a backlit keyboard. Otherwise, I buy what I select, keep it and enjoy it. Stop shopping for things you have already bought or inventing reasons to return them; you're wasting your time. If you don't love it, don't buy it. Then you won't have to return it.

Also, I believe PayPal will refund shipping on returned purchases up to a certain amount (meaning I once returned an item that shipping was $60 and PayPal refunded me $37) and like 12 times a year if it is purchased using PayPal.

I returned my Amazon product at Kohl's also. They box it for you, plus free shipping, and I also received a 25% off coupon for Kohl's, plus an extra $5 off.
