Considering what just happened with Adam Johnson, can we take another minute to appreciate James Pizzutelli and his actions with Malarchuck

The unfortunate thing about Kariya's goal? He doesn't even remember scoring it.

Toronto, Borje Salming, 1986 vs Red Wings. Skate to the face requiring 200 STITCHES and looking like Frankenstein for the rest of his life. He was one tough dude.

I think the injury Karlsson got from Matt Cooke's skate coming down on his Achilles was the worst in Sens history

For Montreal it should've been Trent McCleary, according to the doctors he was a couple minutes from dying after taking a shot to his throat.

Blues Chris Pronger took a slap shot to the chest that stopped his heart . As a blues fan I will never forget that game

If you are going to include Yuri Fischer having a cardiac event then you need to include Rich Peverley and his cardiac event during the Dallas Stars game against the Blue Jackets. Peverley had to be shocked 3 times with the AED to get his heart working again. Let's not forget Phillipe Boucher having his orbital bones crushed from a slapshot.

For Dallas who at the time was Minnesota you should have used Bill Masterton. I think a person dying because of injuries is probably the worst injury one can suffer.
"William Masterton (August 13, 1938 – January 15, 1968) was a Canadian American professional ice hockey centre who played in the National Hockey League (NHL) for the Minnesota North Stars in 1967–68. He is the only player in NHL history to die as a direct result of injuries suffered during a game, the result of massive head injuries suffered following a hit during a January 13, 1968 contest against the Oakland Seals." - Wikipedia

Gotta say I think Lemieux's back injury was worse than Crosby's injury. Missing a bunch of games that season and then having back surgery the next season in the middle of his prime when he was competing for the title of GOAT with Gretzky was devastating. I know it's hard making these lists though so no hate, good job with the video!

I think Brian Little’s brain bleed that sent him to the hospital for weeks was a little worse then Wheelers testi shot

I like the idea for this video. A new hockey fan would learn things from this. I have some thoughts about some of these teams though.

Rich Peverley is a candidate for worst injury in Dallas Stars' history. It's a similar situation to Fischer, but his career was done and he nearly died. Bill Masterton is also an obvious pick for the Dallas/Minnesota franchise (you used a Hartford example for Carolina).

The worst injury by far in Canadiens' history was Trent McCleary getting a puck to the throat. He very nearly died and he couldn't get the air intake he needed to continue playing, so it ended his career.

For the Devils, I would say Scott Niedermayer getting elbowed by Tie Domi is a big contender.

For the Senators, the Brannstrom one was disturbing, but in terms of impact, Erik Karlsson getting his Achilles severed by Matt Cooke's skate was a far stranger and more severe injury.

For the Leafs, the Berard one is a good choice, but Ace Bailey was nearly killed by Eddie Shore as well.

I think this is the worst injury for a Toronto Maple Leafs player.

In Boston Garden on December 12, 1933, Shore ended the career of Toronto Maple Leafs star Ace Bailey when he hit Bailey from behind. When Bailey's head hit the ice, he was knocked unconscious and went into convulsions. Bailey was rushed to the hospital in critical condition with a fractured skull and was operated on for more than four hours. There were many fears that he could possibly die. He came out of a coma for the second time 10 days later, making a full recovery, but he did not play professionally again.

I'm pretty sure Kevin Stevens breaking most of the bones in his face which ended up completely derailing his promising career is the worst Penguins injury.

Its between the daniel brashear incident and the manny malhotra incident for me when you talk about Canucks worst injuries.

Manny Malhotra was never the same and only played 136 more games after the injury, where as brashear played 526 more games and was still able to play his rock'em sock'em style of hockey.

I'm surprised that you didn't mention Bill Masterton for the Stars, the guy literally died as a result of an injury.

Knowing what we do about concussions - Kariya should NEVER been allowed back on the ice.

I get that the hip injury to DiPietro was yet another injury that eventually killed his career, but it shouldn't have been above Pierre Turgeon getting cheap-shotted by Dale Hunter in the 93 playoffs

I thought the cardiac arrest by jay Bouwmeester would be first for St. Louis. That was scary
