The reader should not be confused as a MUST keeping same direction on the armature: changing within direction is the mainly purpose of changing within polarity itself i.e. we changing polarity because we need to (2) repel after being (1) attracted. Note that he uses conventional current flow, if using electron current flow then the left hand rule needs to be changed to right hand and the pictured direction of current flow is opposite.

Really nice animation. However, viewer be aware: there is a Physics error - the EMF versus Time graph should peak when the armature coil passes through the horizontal position and be zero when it is vertical
