They are some misunderstanding on Android on windows, Amazon are just for stores to download the apps they have nothing to do with runtime also sideload of apks is possible, so accessing store then Amazon store have nothing to do with performance but yes is annoying to do multiple steps to get an app

Android will run natively, Amazon's role is only as an app store. so they could bring whole ton of apps in a go. Infact Windows can support any android app marketplace, which was confirmed by Satya himself in an interview with WSJ.

In the new store one can search for Android apps and install it. Under the hood Windows is adding a virtualization layer in collaboration with Qualcomm and Intel(May sound hyperbolic, the guys who collabed can confirm). Almost similar thing was done in case of WSL. so in theory the performance cost would be of Virtualization. The reason the wanted to bring android app is not Desktop anyways, it's for their Surface Go and Surface Pro devices.

Android subsystem for windows is written by Microsoft itself and not Amazon. Microsoft partnering with Amazon just to bring android apps without Google Play services fast. Else developer may take time to put their app on Microsoft Store.

Amazon Store thing is not a bridge. It's just that Microsoft Store has got an Amazon Store integrated into it, from which Android apps can be installed. I agree on not having Google Play Services installed though. Not sure if they have complimented it with open-gapps or something, but if not, most Android apps are going to break.

Also, there are a lot of symmetric issues going on with Windows 11. I have seen different scrollbars in the same app in different scenarios, so I think asthetics aren't done yet. Seems like they had to announce it early because of the leak. And as usual, I didn't like it much, as most things in the presentation are only asthetic things. We need to see how they perform.

it not a amazon bridge its using linux kernel which they had already developed but amazon is just used a content management to curate the app store as it would take a lot of time to incorporate into windows store all the apps

Windows 11 looked like Deepin to me at first. I watched the Windows event on Arch btw.
I will have to install Windows 11 to make sure my debloat script works well with it.

This video is approx 2 yrs old from now. I am late here to learn DevOps, these days during interviews DevOps questions are more asked, so I am here.

I have used Win 98, XP, 7, 8-8.1 & 10. When Microsoft announced Windows 11 and unfortunately it is not supporting my machine due to some extra hardware things…I was surprised and disappointed with the change so now I use only Windows 10 and will never ever upgrade to newer windows . In my office laptop Windows 11 is totally an insane machine, not at all smooth experience that it was having before in Wn XP / 7. Instead of changing looks and feel they had changed everything and it is creating lots of confusion and unnecessary steps has increased a lot, affecting productivity.

Linux and Mac is best for SDLC.

If having low budget, experiment, productivity, core development switch to Linux.

If start earning and concerned about security use MacBook.

The world is now Open Source so I have stared to use it, so why not OS.

Hitesh, you misunderstood. Android will run on Windows Subsystem for Android as virtual machine. Only installation part is handled through Amazon Store. You can sideload APKs by the way. But you are right about Google Services. That is missing.
