Thank you all for your support. This video is still valid and works, but the method is very clunky compared to my update above.

Great tutorial! To stop the clouds clipping through the edges of the cube, instead of just using the Z axis, you can use a cube distance function that tells you how far how far away from the cube (or how far inside it) is each point. Node Graph:

very impressive propably the best cloud tutorial I have seen yet! nobody really focus on the edges which this shader fixes and there is no visible box walls :) Thank you very much! 1 Question though, why is it that whne I look through the cloud from bottom the empty parts where there is no cloud looks like looking through magnifying glass ? When looking from top down there is no effect and the empty parts reflect the hdr light scennary normally.

Great stuff. My only issue is with 3.0 I can't get that level of fidelity with the clouds. The Musgrave texture seem to work differently and I get the fluffynes but I can't get the fine details (like at 6:26).

this way to make clouds is fucking fantastic, the only downside is how heavy it goes on the computer, hope it doesn't blow up while rendering.

Great Tutorial, it delivered me exactly the result I was looking for. Except for two aspects: I would like to have more transparency and how do I manipulate the colors? I want the clouds to be more white like mist!

Hi, Great tutorial!
Followed every step and can achieve what I want. But when going to cycles everything disapears ?
Does this only work with Eevee or did I miss a tweak to make it work with Cycles?
Thanks !

Edit_1: Okay, so- I was dumb and was in the wrong shading mode. Hahah. But I still have hard edges, and my cloud looks like a big rectangle. It's super unnatural-looking. I'm at 9:35 at this point.

Original: I'm at 6:29 in this video so far. I really appreciate the step-by-step. Unfortunately, my "cloud" just looks like a fuzzy, black rectangle. It hasn't changed at all to look cloudy. I wonder what's wrong... Is it because I connected MusgraveTexture's Fac instead of Color? Mine doesn't have a Color tab, so it was my only option... That's the only thing I've done differently. :'0 I have version 2.83.

I am using 2.79. I am getting a smoke simulation render but on another computer the same file is black.
Do you have a solution? Thank you.

Can you find out how to make volumetric clouds in Eevee that ACTUALLY USES THE OBJECTS SHAPE

Hi friend. Why mapping for musgrave when you can do Ctrl + A -> apply scale? P.s. The lesson is great

It has no changed to the cube when I added the principal volume. I am using a mac with NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M 2 GB. Did anyone get the same problem as me?

The clouds are awesome! But somehow they disappear in my final Render. Any ideas on how to fix this?

edit: Forgot to turn the camera distance up

Don't get me wrong, it s a beautiful effect and a great tutorial, But you don't explain what you're doing and what each step does to the product. Maybe next time explain a little more that way the viewers can adjust the right things to get their specific project. Besides that, great work dude
