I say just remove the the RFID label and put it on the other filter. Easy fix ....

USE A HAIR DRYER TO CAREFULLY REMOVE AND STICK IT TO THE GENERIC FILTER IN THE EXACT SAME SPOT IT WAS ON THE ORIGINAL. It works!!

We had no choice but to buy a GE fridge with an XWFE filter since other fridges (and brands) that had the measurements we needed to replace our built-in Kitchenaid fridge were not available because of the pandemic. By 'not available' I mean we searched and searched and searched for months to no avail. Old fridge still worked but it just didn't have filtering and an ice-maker. Also our Sears 3 year maintenance warranty was about to expire.

Main take-aways from this experience: do NOT buy GE and do NOT buy Sears.

Remove label and tape it to the reader. Light will stay on, but keep up with your replacement schedule. This company gives you a sheet of date labels.
