What does the Met Police commissioner do?

The role of Metropolitan Police commissioner is the biggest in UK policing.

couple of questions, why does the met still have the title commissioner, when rest of the uk police forces use chief constable titles, same with the uniforms, why the met still uses old black tie/white shirts, yet the rest of the uk police forces have switched to us black polo combat vests and baseball caps?, any response would be great

I thought his job was to covered up for the corruption of the government and his own officers. That takes time and effort!

He busts his subordinates balls, has some people terminated and others he places on suspension.

Other countries used to say, why can't we not have well trained disciplined transparent police like the UK that serves protect us and hold their bad apple accountable. It is sad what is happening & happened, but let's hope he can improve & do a better job. People should give him chance to fix it, and politician's should remember, the police is for the public first and not to create laws policies that makes police against the public.
