SCP-378 - Brainworm

SCP 378 is a Thaumiel Class anomaly also known as Brainworm.

SCP-378 is an arthropod superficially resembling a deformed larval instance of Scolopendra gigantea.
SCP378 is capable of asexual reproduction at will, producing instances of SCP-378-A.
Upon infecting a suitable host, SCP-378 will attempt to reintegrate its hosts into their respective species's social sphere. Once integrated, SCP-378 directs its hosts to indefinitely engage in the behaviors typical for its species, such as communal labor and social recreation. Human hosts prefer environments with a high population-density and a robust entertainment scene.

The SCP might be huge and widely spread, but it isn't "decentralized" by any means. It's extremely hierarchical and has one of the most centralized power structures I can imagine.

So an endoparasitic centipede is intelligent enough to to help squash adversaries and in turn get to live the lives of their to know what it's like and live that dream that few other arthropods can boast

I kind of adore the implication that a giant centipede has one of its offspring drones control a human to binge drink, love it, and essentially go YEAH BBEER

Well, that opens up a whole new SK class end of the world scenario. If SCP 096's face is seen by a host of 378's offspring, it would then go after all the others, all the hosts of 378's competition (after one eventually saw it), and EVERYONE that saw it during the ensuing rampage. Plus causing massive containment breaches in at least 2 sites. So now we need an extra level of containment for 096, an automatic bug detector.

Other than killing its hosts brain, this SCP is kind of wholesome. It just wants to have fun. Relatively harmless fun compared to other SCPs.

So let me get this straight... There's more than one brainworm, and the SCP Foundation has no clue how many there are or where they are located aside from the one they have contained... Yeah, that doesn't sound good at all, especially if one of their groups of interest has one at their disposal.
