SCP Orientation is an archive of files of the SCP Foundation.

Today we will be studying Item number SCP-378: Brainworm, Object class: Euclid.

SCP-378 is an arthropod superficially resembling a deformed larval instance of Scolopendra gigantea. SCP-378 is capable of asexual reproduction at will, producing instances of SCP-378-A from its anus. SCP-378-A are obligate endoparasites, infecting advanced primates such as humans.

Upon infection, SCP-378-A integrates itself with its host's nervous system through poorly-understood means, inducing brain death and extending SCP-378's remote control to the host itself. Vital functions and sensory input remain unaffected.

Whoever is drawing the thumbs is quality. This one is like a wonderful combo of your 2 usual styles, the "sexy"and the gory thumbnails, upgraded visually. The girl is pretty but not disproportionate and the horror elements are clear. Great job👍🏾

So, they effectively kill the person they take over/their consciousness, and then they puppet their body, taking their identity as their own in the process? That's... disturbing. At least with the goa'uld there's a chance you can recover the host.

I should feel bad about it, but for some reason I like this one a lot. I'm more impressed than horrified. Maybe it's that I also play role-playing games, so I can understand the appeal. I'd actually like to chat with SCP 378 if I could. Oh snap, there's more than 1?! I wonder if the other one has the same motivations or different ones. One of these with hostile intentions instead of just wanting to be gamer could be REALLY bad.
