Adult Children of Alcoholics Raising Children ~ A Simple Guide for Stopping Intergenerational Pain

Показать описание
Parenting as an Adult Child:
Are you an Adult Child parenting your own children? Has fear of passing along intergenerational pain prevented you from becoming a parent? Parenting is difficult enough without struggling to pass on your own fears and trauma to your children.
The pain stops here.
What is your understanding of boundaries, structure, communication, affection and relationships? Was your "normal" growing up unhealthy and dysfunctional? If you grew up with an alcoholic parent, drug addicted parent, parent with mental illness, narcissistic mother or narcissistic father, or hyper religious or militant beliefs, you might have your own dysfunctional biases to pass along to your children. Not to mention your own shame and guilt. It is easy to pass on intergenerational trauma when you have not worked on gaining insight into your own beliefs and actions.
And remember, even the best parents make mistakes. Your kids, as adults, might tell you someday that you messed them up in ways that you never would have imagined. Welcome to parenthood.
I present a simple parenting guide for parenting strategy for your children as you work through healing your own past traumas and rewriting your core beliefs; separate your Critical Parent from your Loving Parent. I wish to inspire hope and guidance in your role as an Adult Child Parent.
I dedicate this video to all the ACA's who are struggling with their own fears, doubts, and confusion about their own parenting skills.

With Covid-19 social distancing practices, I have had to stop teaching classes at my clinic. This video and others are my attempt to make my educational topics available to my patients. I have placed them on YouTube so others can benefit. Please like and subscribe to get more videos on recovery: Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous, Alanon, Adult Children of Alcoholics, Mindfulness, good Mental Health and Self Care.
