the arms of yang often don't look straight and that's not elegant. His at times arched spine is not elegant either. In general he departs too often from right angles so he wouldn't fare well in conan's german game shows.

What set Zanetti apart when he beat the previous champion in the '08 Olympics (Chen Yibing, who everyone at the time thought was perfect and unbeatable), was how level his strength elements were. Yibing was always a little high in his crosses and malteses and it took a direct comparison to Zanetti for people to realize how "unperfect" he was. Then Petrounias set himself apart with no false grip, longer holds and a better dismount stick rate. and NOW Liu Yang has set himself apart really by capitalizing on what everyone else has innovated on (except I don't think he sticks nearly as often as Petrounias or yibing did), but also by perfecting his connections between strength elements. It's crazy how high the bar has been set for ring men.
