Doof when he gets a divorce: *still loves his daughter and tries his best*
My father after the divorce: *tips hat* farewell, partner.

“He’s not perfect. Kidnapping is illegal, but that just makes him human” I’m dead 😂😂

"Why Dr.Doofenshmirtz is the best dad"
Everyone: "He is."

I love how Doof is the perfect example of “I’m not treating my kids like my parents did”. He was always there for his daughter when his parents could care less about him. It’s poetic

At least he's there for his daughter.
His parents weren't even there when he was born.

Quoting Vanessa, when she was arguing with him, "You're just a good guy pretending to be bad!"

The fact his parents weren't there when he was born is hilarious and depressing at the same time.
Poor doof.

"hey girl, how you like to ride on a real bike?"
"She's 16!"

"He never takes is anger out on his daughter" and that's the tea

His childhood was awful and he's making sure his daughter doesn't go through the same pains he went through. Doof is a character that is well written and very 3 dimensional and a perfect example of a father character.

The fact he throws huge birthday parties for Vanessa since his parents couldn’t care less :(

Let's also not forget he's a freaking genius, like this dude is cannonically almost as smart as Phineas and Ferb. The only thing he's missing is luck and hindsight, but he is able to make some really cool inventions at times...

Literally one of my favorites characters of all times

Kinda ironic how one of the best, most caring cartoon dads, is the "bad guy" of his franchise.

He has even single-handedly ended cat-calling within a single laser!

He literally shot a pervert with a laser just to save his daughter, an amazing dad for sure

Doofenshmirtz became the father that his own father could never be. He easily could have let his childhood turn him into someone who mistreats his own child but he didn’t. And on top of all that he still tries to be a loving dad despite the fact that he’s “evil”. What a legend.

Doof is probably one of the most healthiest examples of a divorced father in tv. Him being evil isn’t a result of the divorce, but rather bad child hood and he doesn’t enforce that on Vanessa. Despite being divorced, he still is shown to have a great relationship with his ex wife and treats Vanessa the same way. Most shows would have him be evil because he divorced or have him be a deadbeat but he is still friendly with his ex and even goes to great lengths to help Vanessa

I love how LEGITIMATELY concerned the nurse looks in the birth flashback. Like, they had to have just experienced some MAGICAL stuff to be holding baby Doof despite neither parent being there.
