Is this a Makita or a fake? It is a fake but actually not bad apart from the chuck which broke very quickly. Linked below is where you can get one on amazon, I would imagine Makita will shut that down soon

Hey, by looking at the speed control panel, i think you have the auto loosening mode on (it senses torque), which is mainly intended for loosening nuts just enough not to take them completely off... (the impact driver is the same as the impact wrench version, just with a 1/4" hex chuck) When in reverse mode with the speed control panel active, press the power button on the speed control panel, and the little LED next to the SMALL text turns off indicating that the auto loosening mode is not off.

As interesting as they are to see I only ever buy genuine Makita purely because they're one of the only power tool companies that manufactures in the UK and I prefer to support our own economy as much as possible.

Makita::

We have plants in eight countries around the world (Japan, China, Romania, Thailand, the United Kingdom, Brazil, the United States, and Germany); about 90% of products manufactured by Makita are made abroad. Going forward, we will continue to strive to further enhance our manufacturing capabilities so we can quickly produce and supply products in response to local needs.

Reason why it stopped its called a auto stop so when the screw is out the motor stops not wasting energy out of the battery

Each to their own. I've got two of the Chinese copy, plus 2 fake 18v 6.0ah batteries. Best money spent. No problems so far, and I've had mine for just over a

Ok I suppose but the "crapita" has already developed an issue tradesmen and women need confidence in their tools the bit dropping out all the time would end up with the driver being launched from the scaffold straight into the skip !
