As an Ukrainian, i hear those "predictions" from time to time starting even from the beginning: "we will win in two / three weeks as russia depletes it's ammunition". May i say that all this predictions didn't become true? It's very tough time and not so optimistic as this show shows.

It seems to me that if the NATO nations had been more proactive in helping Ukraine end the Russian incursion in 2022, rather than cowering to Putin as if he could actually start a nuke war, then they wouldn't have to funnell billions of dollars to support the ongoing effort. The end results will be the same either way. But to draw this out, as they have, comes at high cost - not just monetarily, but also in innocent civilian lives being lost or destroyed. The cost to rebuild what could have been preserved through a proactive stance will be a further monumental feat. It's a damn shame that today's leaders are so weak-willed and weak-minded, given what is at stake. The deterrence to other nations that would attempt the same has been lost altogether. The "might" of the US has lost its shine. What an embarrassing situation they've created.

The risk of ANY invasion is that it will polarize the local population AGAINST the invaders, no matter the reason for the invasion. Russians are notoriously more successful as a defensive force than an offensive one, at least partially, for this exact reason.
