I met Mark (randomly) 1-2yrs ago at a bookstore. I've been interested in lucid dreams a long time & it kickstarted a 30 minute conversation. He appears very knowledgeable about numerous topics. Lucid dreaming, UFO's and (unsure if terms appropriate) parapsychology. I believe he's involved (background) in social work. We attended the same school. Anyway wish him the best. This is a very interesting topic. I completely understand the feeling that there's a vibe in the city/neighborhood. I live in NYC and I always describe going to a different borough as going to a different country because the vibe of the borough threads through the borough despite the different vibes of the neighborhood within the borough.

Thank you for this great review for a book on such a fasignating yet scarcely appreciated topic! As a citylife chaparone in Denver - I find the idea of egregores compelling to describe the distinct character/entity I sense when working with massive crowds at different public events. This is a very real and palpable emergent phenomena, I can attest. I'll definitely have to read this book. Much regards 🙏

It's interesting because I work in a private school and we definitely had an egregore pre-Covid but as we're coming back together this year our collective energy is all out of whack. In the past the older kids modeled the egregore to the younger ones. I didn't realize how fragile it was because now the vibe is completely different. I worry that we won't be able to get it back.

It's so interesting to me that about 5 or 6 years ago the whole topic of servitors, egregores etc were not really known but now in the past 2 to 3 years it's gained in popularity. I've always wanted to create a servitor but I saw a couple videos that said that you shouldn't create one if you have a mental illness, so I never have. I've seen some videos, and read about making a contract and whatever else the being needs, does etc but they never give examples or they only give a few. Like I need a whole list of examples. Could you say a genius Loci is technically an egregore? Now I have a new book on my wishlist. I know a couple books about servitors but not egregores.

In regards to an egregore residing over town, city, settlement or even one singular house, can it be more than one? Do all the unconscious/conscious thoughts create and feed just one? Or can all those thoughts and energy create more than one?
