How is Pro Tools on Windows? Going back almost 25 years, you couldn't have pulled me away from Cubase - but this super crowded, super dark, high contrast UI they have be moving to release after release has got me seriously looking for something I can stand looking at. Maybe one day I'll have a giant SSL and won't need to look at the screen so much ;) But that's likely a pipe dream!

I heard, "All real instruments", I got excited. Then I see "snare samples". Man. Does anyone, anywhere, actually record and mix real drums? I am not completely knocking samples, but I wish there were some real drums, somewhere. Anywhere. And when "real instruments" are advertised, please use real drums.

I guess a producer, engineer, and mixer can instantly stand out as unique just by actually using real instruments.

But, this is still cool. I just wish there was some love somewhere for real drums.

Nice video as always, man. David, I'm curious as to why you have stereo files for the snare. I get it with the room sounds and all the samples to augment the snare and make it feel wide but the main snare is also stereo? 🤯

Hi David, no parallel processing on the snare (like parallel compression)? In the previous video you used quite a lot of parallel processing on the kick. Also I`ve noticed that on both you used a brickwall limiter. Would brickwall limiter be your first choice for both kick and snare before the clipper? What is your opinion on brickwall limiter vs clipper on snare and kick? Thanks a lot.

Probably weird question, but people always add something to the snare.
Why can't someone make a library where the snare is already compressed and edited?
Why people do the same stuff over and over again?

I do some live sound and incorporate plugins. Would be nice to here a mix without samples using the actual snare.

Im not sure why, but this video really gave me an itch to buy 2 distressors, a fatso, and a 5500 (yes I realize you didnt use 2/3 of those units on this snare) God help me lol

Great snare btw, this is the type of shit no one really makes videos about but is the nuts and bolts of commercial productions.
