HUGE Metal Snare DRUM Mixing Trick

This How to metalcore tutorial I show how to make snare drums sound huge and explosive for any metal, thall, djent, deathcore or any metal subgenre. Using a Squier Bass VI guitar for metal, in Double Drop A. When mixing metal music, getting the snare to stand out is the almost the most important aspect, so in this lesson I go over a cool and easy trick to make it POP.

I'm Brendon Padjasek of the band Structures from Toronto, Canada and welcome to my channel based on modern metal, djent, and deathcore music, production, mixing and song writing.

Thanks for watching! What will you side-chain to your snare?

Awesome tip. Really like it with the guitars and the side chain. Sounds brutal

Thats what i use the snare bomb pack by JST for. Super effective when you need the impact

Reminds me of that early metalcore trend of crowd chanting "HEY!"
Super nostalgic sound

This is an awesome idea. I am using the sound of a crackling fire in the verses, and ghastly screaming in the choruses.

I randomly stumbled upon this channel for some Guitar POV filming tricks and I got here... and I was like "how can one channel fit so many of my interests?".
Just got my own GoPro and I cannot wait to experiment with some 8th string slow-mo 🤩
Cheers! Thanks for the video and everything else you post!

That’s one of the nastiest quick tips you could show me. The obvious side chain I utilize is dipping the bass every time a kick comes in to allow room for those frequencies in the kick to punch through without getting muddy with the bass.

I usually tke a synth and build a noise tail by muting the oscillators except the noise oscillator. Add a long release and add reverb if needed, render to wav, pitch down and there you go, a dark snare tail.

Thats an awesome tip, but I think maybe ill never be able to hear a snare without thinking about a crowd again 😅
