No-no-no! Do NOT spray on the element or where it connects to the oven wall! Oven cleaner degrades the element itself, and you can get electrocuted if it gets into the connector. Also, keep the oven cleaner off the door gasket. It degrades those, too. Finally, after you're finished putting all those chemicals in your oven, rinse with a wet cloth. Dip in a bucket and wring it out, then wipe down the surfaces.
EasyOff yellow can be used with heat, and the directions are on the can. It's pretty caustic, so I prefer the blue EasyOff. Cold oven. I let it sit overnight, and everything wipes right off.

Blue easy off sit overnight does the same thing. Its fume free 🤗.

Dawn dish detergent and a cheap scouring pad works well. No need to spray the easy off. That crap will kill you. Not to mention the toxic fumes and how bad your lungs & throat feel afterwards.

As from one housekeeper of 40 plus years to another, "DO NOT" spray oven cleaner on element as that will cause the element to become degraded and burn out or cause electrical shock!! Also spraying the oven down with Vinger and while still wet, sprinkle with some baking soda and a bit of Dawn degreaser on any soiled spots, letting that sit overnight, then wipping away the next morning all that melted greasy grime, works like a charm on slightly dirty ovens!! If there are any left over stubborn spots or hard to reach areas like the top or sides where you couldn't sprinkle with the vinger and baking soda method, then use the oven cleaner on all those little stubborn left over spots. Now for all those very dirty ovens like that one shown in your post, start by turning off all power to the oven, cover the element with some dish towels, news paper, or a sheet of foil, anything to catch the over spray or better yet take a pool noodle cut too size the noodle slicing it down the middle on one side making a cup like cover, then slip over the element covering completely to protect before spraying with self cleaning oven cleaner, Be sure to turn the electricity to the stove off at the breaker box before hand. If you are cleaning someone else home you could have customer turn off power to oven then, remove element before spraying any oven cleaner is another safe method for protecting those elements, It's out of the way altogether!! As a housekeeper for many years, believe me, your customers will appreciate the heads up and not having to replace their elements because of the overspray of the oven cleaner eating away at the element!! Just remember to have your customer turn off the breaker to the stove and cover the element with what ever coving method they choice before they spray the night before for you to clean the following day and when they arrive home they will have a sparkling clean oven!! Also if you have them show you where their breaker box is you can replace the element for them if thats the method they choiced, then turn back on the juice to oven for them once your done cleaning. I've found over the years that customers are willing to pitch in on some of those easy task for you, to help make your cleaning a bit more easier. Also I wanted to thank you for some of your fantastic cleaning tips, like the scrub daddy sponges thats one I'll need to try. Thanks and looking forward to learning new methods you've descoved works best at making all of our house cleaning task easier. P.S. for any ladies or gents out there, if you don't have a self cleaning oven, they are just wonderful and very seldom need to use oven cleaner sprays, once it's done self cleaning just wipe up the small amout of ash. I absolutely love my self cleaning oven!!

Nice. For me since my back needs it, I remove the door and take it outside to clean. It gives me easier access to the inside of the oven to have the door out of the way.
Too, I used a plastic credit card/gift card (expired of course) to scraps and it takes 90% of the gunk off. THEN I wipe it down with paper towels. Saves a LOT of time.

Dawn power wash alone works very good!

I have been told NEVER use oven cleaner on a self cleaning oven. It could destroy the protective finish

I’m pretty sure the instructions on easy off say you should absolutely not use heat, I think the bottle says the oven shouldn’t be used for hours before using the product. I’ve sprayed some and accidentally got it on the light and it smoked bc the light got too warm. Be careful.

Here’s a tip. Never use Easy Off or harsh chemicals inside a cooking appliance. Simply use a plastic putty knife and scrape any charred on pieces, then vacuum up those pieces. Clean the door with Dawn or a baking soda paste and scrub off. That’s as clean as an oven needs to be.

Here are the steps:

1. Remove grates and set them aside
2. Preheat oven to 200 degrees Fahrenheit
3. Grab yellow easy off and spray everywhere (while covering hands and mouth)
4. Let that sit for at least thirty five minutes
5. Use paper towels to remove easy off
6. For door apply dawn power wash and remaining bits with double sided scraper/razor
7. Continue using scraper/razor for remaining bits in oven and vacuum away
8. Use steel daddy sponge and there cif cleaner to clean everywhere (don’t forget outside and in between glass doors)
9. Done 😊

😳 Use with precaution… I’ve been cleaning for over 5 years professionally.. the cleaner can permanently damage the finish on the inside of the oven. Once the damage is there.. there’s no fixing it. Personally I would use stove oven cleaner instructions and a lot of elbow grease w/scrapper but NEVER turn the oven on to clean unless your letting it SELF-clean (an option some ovens have in which you don’t need any products).

I cannot use any aerosols. I have asthma. I use baking soda, table salt and lemon juice with a crushed foil sheet. And my grandma always did this. No fumes. Preheat oven to 150-200.
