JUDAS PRIME TERMINAL ENTRY

It was common for many sinners in the lower layers to often forget the content of their lives, particularly the sins they committed to earn their sentence. Judas shared this fate, being forced to wander the worst layer without a clear memory of what exactly he did to deserve this. He had faint guesses, but he could never formulate a narrative to deserve the sentence.

Instead, Judas focused on survival. Unlike many husks in Treachery, Judas was defined by his unwavering hope. Whereas many would simply give up and join the frozen bodies, Judas believed there was still light at the end of the tunnel. And to that, he turned to Heaven.

Soon people would rise, inspired by his charisma. He emboldened courage, and he reminded people that one can still and must persist wherever they are, for even the afterlife is worth just living. Pointing to Heaven, he rallied followers to pray and persist in their name, as a form of atonement. Secretly, Judas was not expecting much from simple prayers or Heaven, but he decided that it was worth trying out.

A city rose from the efforts of the masses, one that - if not for the extreme conditions of Treachery - could have been as habitable as even Lust - . Taking notes from the other layers, Judas and his trusted leaders led the efforts of making the city both a sanctuary and a church. And when Gabriel himself came down from the Heavens, and was in awe at the tenacity displayed, he spoke to Judas - and the people - proclaiming that their efforts will be rewarded soon.

So they worked, to the point where they forgot how long it has been since their promise. People were losing hope, and gaining impatience. As much as the leaders and Judas himself tried to rally hope, they could not deny deep down that their own hope is beginning to falter.

When a heavenly light came down again, and when Gabriel came surrounded by an angelic squadron, Judas was overjoyed, believing the time had finally come. He would however, be proven wrong as soon as the angels drew their weapons, and began painting the snow red.

A blind rage consumed Judas, strong enough to start swinging at the angels. Seeing Judas come at him in a beeline, Gabriel took out his swords, and aimed straight at the head. Judas ran right into the blades, marking the last death of Treachery.

As the company was leaving for Heaven, Gabriel looked down at Judas’s corpse. Overcome with the feeling of guilt for the first time in his life, Gabriel stood silent for a bit, desperately seeking it in him to apologize. Failing to do so, Gabriel returned back without a word.

Later, Judas would awaken as a Prime Soul, the most potent one in Heaven’s records to date. Still in blinding fury, Judas embarked on a warpath from Hell straight to Heaven, slaughtering anything that would be in his way. Even angels dropped to the floor in an effort to deal with him. Consumed by betrayal, Judas marched forward.

After many massacres later, the angels were able to restrain and incapacitate Judas. Terrified at the damage a Prime Soul could do once released, they built the Tesseract as the ultimate shield for Hell and Heaven against Judas. Said “ultimate defense” proved meaningless once Judas awoke, carving a way out of the Tesseract with relatively little effort.

Judas would wander the lands of the now fallen city of Treachery for what felt like eternity to him. The murderous fire inside him had calmed down, being overtaken. Guilt of a king who led his people to ruin, hatred for a God that ironically committed the sin of his home, and despair over the state of his life’s work gripped Judas.

As Judas ventured to visit Fraud and Violence, his heart mulled over. The passage of time would soften the embers of Judas’s fire. Unwordable anguish was all that was left, and even that would soon fade with the bleak monotony of life in the lower layers. Soon his memory of how hope felt, or his life as a king, felt incomplete too. Unavoidable and bleak entropy diluted intensity in his mind.

Retreating back to his home layer, he spent his time making a living space out of his prison, to spend his time. When two mysterious icy prisons arrived at the complex he lived in, Judas merely just worked them into the decor of the complex. He came to know the ins and outs of the prison in his remodeling efforts, as there was simply nothing better to do.

And gradually, his demeanor softened, as he kept looking for things to do.

there's one song left tho.

I feel like Judas would attack you from behind and THEN start his monologue. And if you try to shoot him, he just disappears and teleports to a different spot like it was just an illusion.
And if you shoot him too many times, he becomes enraged and attacks you instead of finishing the monologue

His hips are still thick.
The intro still give goosebumps.
The guitar riff is even more juicy.
And the litemotif, It's the best!

I really like the terminal entry for Judas. It implies that if someone else had come to rule heaven, perhaps even Gabriel himself, hell may have become a livable realm. After all, we know that Gabriel is only acting on behalf of the council, and the idols and ferrymen prove that he does seem to believe there is hope for those condemned to hell. Really makes you wonder how things would've gone had he been in charge of things

With every Prime Soul that’s conceptualized, Gabriel’s lore expands beautifully :0

I like to imagine that every single attack of his would be made using the legs. Because, let's be honest, who needs arms when you got legs like THOSE?

Judas, now free from the Tesseract and fully formed, hovers for but a few moments before slowly lowering himself to the ground. Some of Treachery’s snow and ice is nearby when he touches the ground, and all of it begins to melt. He now looks at the very same thing that helped break him out. Note: I’m kind of imagining Judas’ voice to sound like Rhulk’s voice a little.

“Were you the one responsible for all of this? No, you’re the only one who could do something like this”.

He slowly brings up his right hand, now burning and crackling in bright pink and white flames, up to chest level before tilting his head down to look at it. Inspecting it as if he had never noticed until now.

“Something’s been off for the last couple of hours. For but a few moments, I could sense powerful souls disappearing. Minos. Sisyphus. Even Brutus and Cassius. They’re all gone. I can even sense Gabriel’s soul near its end. You were responsible for all of that as well, were you not?”

Judas now clasps his hand, the flames on his arm and leg burning brighter. Followed by a long moment of silence.

*Betrayal begins to play*

“You do not need to tell me, your inability to speak tells me all I need to know. I must congratulate you for doing this and getting as far as you have (saying this while cracking his neck). Even Heaven is afraid of the both of us. Unfortunately, in this realm, only one monster may live. You were created for a purpose, were you not? Show me what your purpose is. Let us see who Heaven is truly afraid of, Angel of Death”.

Battle Quotes:

“Suffer as I have!”

“Perish!”

“Burn!”

“Abandon all hope, machine!”

“No blood for you!” (Judas’ flames engulf him, making it dangerous to get close to refuel for a few moments)

“*low chuckle*” (small taunt)

“My blood spilled, bravo!” (Second Phase begins and engulfed blood can activate more frequently)

“Pathetic!” (Respawn)

I really love the idea that the angelic council and by proxy Gabriel committed the very same sin that got Judas trapped down there, I also really like that they cant contain Judas at all and the only reason he didnt slaughter everyone was because he calmed down.

What an epic remake of the old version. From giving Judas an actual intro and outro to it feeling way more grandiose than before. I got the sense that despite us knowing that he will meet the same fate as Minos and Sisyphus, that this really is Judas' last fight and is willing to throw everything he's got at V1.

Never before have I wanted an Ultrakill OC to become an official part of the game's continuity so badly.

Soundtrack? PURE GLOW UP, in each single aspect, from drums to guitars!
Lore? Outstanding! Carefully written, nearly flawless, catches attention well, and even Gabriel was here, even feeling GUILT over his own decisions, and then Judas feeling the same after comitting the same sin!
Simply 10/10

_The arena is silent, save for Gabriel's fading form watching silently from his impromptu vantage point... as the tesseract finally unfolds for the last time - revealing a magenta, translucent body half-wreathed in unquenchable flame._

"You.

I've seen you cast down Minos and Sisyphus."

_He shakes off his arm, pieces of the frozen extra-dimensional cage still clinging on for dear undeath._

"I've seen you cast down my cellmates, Brutus and Cassius."

_The figure then sighs in resignation._

"There is not much left. Save for you, and me...

Version 1. My estranged brother. That is clear to me.

Prove to me that you have the spark.

Prove to me that you can end this farce once and for all.

Lest you be stuck here for all eternity, as I have."

_The figure says, raising his right arm, then whips it as it turns into a scythe extending from where his hand used to be - wreathed in fire that is quite unnatural for even Hell's own standards... The mere act causes the snow of Treachery to freeze in the air as if time itself held itself in anticipation for the fight that is to come._

"Let's have some fun."

aight i was expecting this to be good, but i didn’t expect it to SLAP HARDER THAN JUDAS’S THIGHS BRO
it has such a grand feel now with the bells/added synths, but the breakdowns and guitar are even more brutal and epic than before, the amen breaks are awesome, and you somehow made the motif even better than before (the violin at the end is also a nice callback to the original teaser)
probably the best fanmade ultrakill soundtrack i’ve listened to, and that’s a very high bar

Perfection. At least nearing it.

I would've made the acoustic section a bit louder, but this is definitely the best version of Betrayal.

While I doubt that Judas is going to be in P-3, I really would like to see this take on Treachery and P-3 as a mod in the future. It's got a really fantastic concept and the music is stellar. Love the terminal entries you've been writing up as well!

It would be cool if he had a style bonus for killing Judas and using exactly 30 coins in reference to the thirty pieces of silver he got for betraying jesus.

This makes perfect Sense too (divine comedy nerd here) 9 or Treachery is a giant frozen lake, so i expect to be in an icy cavern, with no flesh prison boss or whatever and just find, a soul, trapped in ice, and Judas is one of the great betrayers so this makes sense.

If Prime Sanctums had challenges, P-3 would be completing the level with only 1 hand.

I just had an idea, and it goes off of the increasing power moves seen from P-1 to P-2.

Minos had to wait for you to bust him out of the Flesh Prison, and even then he didn't form until he hit the ground. Yeah, he'll dropkick you, but that's about it. Didn't wanna lose to you.
Sisyphus, on the other hand, was capable of tearing open the Flesh Panopticon after it took only a little damage, while being fully-formed inside of it. And he's having a fun time seeing your skills. Died laughing, too.

What the heck is Judas Prime gonna do?
When that beat drops, he's not gonna hit you with something hard enough to send you to another dimension like you were expecting. He's not that fired-up (yet) about your special talents.
But the beat doesn't drop when he starts moving. The music stops all together.

Without any music playing he's gonna slowly pace in circles around you, watching every move you make, beckoning you to try your best. The worst part is that he's not going to initiate any real attacks besides probing you. Not until you make the first move.
The moment you send an attack at him, he's gonna throw you for a loop like you just tried to duel the fastest hand in the west. You're gonna be terrified, not because he's angry at you for what you did nor because he's just having a brawl, but because he knows treachery against God and the angels almost as much as V1.
He doesn't even remember the reason for being in treachery. I get the feeling he'd find out halfway through the fight, igniting the flames that were dormant inside him.
Judas Prime was the better V2 to V1's rivalry.
