Raspberry Pi Port Forwarding & Dynamic DNS

Показать описание
Looking at setting up Raspberry Dynamic DNS or Raspberry Pi port forwarding. Both of these will help you make your Pi more accessible on the internet.

Raspberry Pi port forwarding is done on the router and allows you to have applications “speak” with the internet. This is a requirement if you’re looking at hosting any sort of server that requires access outside the local network.

Port forwarding is very easy to setup but is essential if you want to have any of your web applications accessible on the internet.

Raspberry Pi Dynamic DNS allows you to have a domain name rather than an IP to connect to. This makes it a bit easier to remember your home network address when you’re out and about. It also is very helpful if your ISP gives you a dynamic IP rather than a static one.

You can also setup dynamic DNS on your router but it has to have this featured installed. To check simply login to your router and try and find anything that refers to dynamic DNS.

isn't it dangerous to have a port opened ? and what would happen if someone that's trying random ip and ports casually get my ip and port and have access to my server ? thanks for the great video

All I want to do is set up my Pi as a VPN server in my home network to access the Internet through a tunnel via my home IP address when I'm traveling. What is the process?

Before you setup ddns server on pi check in your router if it has a ddns option. Mine has the option to enable ddns so I don't have to run the server on my pi saves precious processing power and ram

Its not working for me, I dont know why, i did all the above steps, and i used the port 9090 instead of the port which you are using, When i try to access, its connection failed, and my 9090 port is open, i check using port checker tool

What did you type into the web browser after you made the router port? Obviously not yours, but can you write it with words. For instance, "YOURIP:port" or whatever goes there

after the stage when i enter sudo /usr/local/bin/noip2, it says -M isn't set, and the site won't connect using the ddns url. (note the site won't open from outside networks either)

my ISP has blocked all the ports, though I've setup everything perfectly, the request from internet is always timed out. What should we do in such case? (of course without having to subscribe to third-party services)

this worked great the first time but seems to have stopped so I tried to re install and it is failing as follows, I guess a total uninstall would work but how ? This is how far I get second install attempt. It now says after make install (new line) if [ ! -d /usr/local/bin ]; then mkdir -p /usr/local/bin;fi (new line) if [ ! -d /usr/local/etc ]; then mkdir -p /usr/local/etc;fi (new line) cp noip2 /usr/local/bin/noip2 (new line) cp: cannot create regular file '/usr/local/bin/noip2': Text file busy make: *** [Makefile:30: install] Error 1 (end) Obviously I'm no linux guru so I've no idea how to uninstall the noip to start again, as i say it was working ok then stopped so I tried a re install. Thanks.

I did exactly what u said above in D-link router but nothing happened, When I gave Rpi ip address with port number in Browser, its says as unable to reach the ip address. And Is there anything like charges for port forwarding from Iinternet Service Providers.
