Republican Rep.-elect George Santos has admitted to lying about his job experience and college education during his campaign for a seat in the House. "My sins here are embellishing my resume. I'm sorry," Santos said. NBC’s Emilie Ikeda reports for TODAY.

There are certain things you can actually “embellish” on a resume, like if you were instrumental in developing a new investment strategy, etc. But other things are just bright line facts; you either did or you did not. As in, graduate from college, work for certain companies, etc. THOSE are the ones that can truly get you into trouble because there is really no way you can talk your way out of it. They are NOT embellishments, they are just outright lies.
