EFFORTLESS POWER - How LETTING GO can transform your golf

Hi everyone,
Welcome to another video here on the channel, thank you very much for joining me and supporting me in the Academy.

Running to let go when we play golf is one of the hardest things, because the instinct for golfers is to try and control where the ball goes. Letting go, potentially goes against our instincts to hit the ball straighter, letting Will do the opposite.

Just as I explained in the video, the more we trust and let the club swing where it wants to, especially in the transition, the more consistent, natural speed, and striking will be layered onto your game.

I hope this is something of interest to you, if you find this of some benefit, please let me know in the comments below and I look forward to your feedback on this video.

Hope everyone’s having a great golfing week, and it’s a little warmer where you are than it is here in the UK, and I wish you health and happiness on an off golf course.

Once again, thank you very much for your support it is so appreciated, and is very humbling to read all the messages.

Until the next time

Warren

Great Video again Warren. Especially explaining it with Hogans Swing. Now i understand what Mc Hatton (the hat) meant with loose wrists.

Dear Warren, you never ceased to amaze me, thank you so much.

Really good as usual. An excellent reminder about where the speed actually comes from. I'm having lessons and making strides with my swing so I always try to be careful about overloading my brain with swing tips from YouTube but you've never messed me up.

Great video, your explanations accomplish what a lot of other instructors fail at. If 80% of the speed and power comes from the hands and arms then almost anyone can play casual good single digit handicap golf using this method. Lag back, lag forward, release that lag thru impact, it works for all clubs. It is club focused not body focused. Thanks its a game changer.

Hi Warren, I’ve played single figures for 40 years and put in so much effort that at 70 I’m struggling- just watching this one video tells me my top hand grip has been far too tight. Tried this out yesterday and what a lightbulb moment 👍 Really brought the enjoyment back for me and so smooth and truly effortless. Thank you

Hi Warren, greetings from snowy cold Ottawa, Canada. Just discovered your youtube lessons a week ago. Just turned 80 this year, luckily still fit enough to enjoy playing, your lessons on developing speed with the hands and arms are a revelation. Lessons I had years ago focused on creating speed with the body and just allowing the arms along for the ride never seemed to work consistently for me. Lost a lot of speed as I've aged and really became frustrated this past summer. I love the drills you've described so clearly, and I'm able to do them at home as golf right now is out of the question. Even bought a, impact bag to work with. Please keep up the great content and I hope you manage to land in the type of position you deserve, you're a great teacher.

Warren this drill will be added to my practices routines. My grip pressure at times feels like an 11 and so intend on controlling the club I’m exhausted.. My focus when training to keep my grip pressure at 1 and allowed the wrists to move freely.

I’ve also added turning the club reverse, butt end down, for a couple of swing then to a normal grip. In doing so I can feel the weight of the club head when swinging.

Thanks again for your work.

Just tried your loose wrists method with both irons and driver during a freezing round of golf today—absolute game-changer! It worked perfectly to square the clubface at impact and boosted my club head speed noticeably. My playing partner was seriously impressed.

Two things I focused on: making a full shoulder turn/backswing with completely relaxed wrists and staying relaxed during the transition and downswing. My instinct on the range was to muscle it, as usual, but after warming up with your method, I fully committed to it on the course. The results? Pure strikes and insane consistency, even under pressure. Had some of the longest drives and best ball-striking I’ve ever had.

Thanks so much for the excellent explanations—this really clicked for me!”

Yes and this feeling can only be attained without tension in the hands and wrists

It has taken some time to overcome the muscle memory of my previously poorly executed golf swing, but I made it happen. With stack and tilt I am consistently hitting a nice draw instead of a wicked slice. Thanks for your coaching and reinforcements.

Another gem Warren, very many thanks . There’s a video of Tommy Armour on YouTube which shows the lag developing .

This is SOOOO good. The slo mos (hands leading the club) and the grip pressure 1 out of 10. I really have only acknowledged swing tension over the past couple years, and it is a battle to get rid of it. But these concepts and the video are gold.

Great video content Warren you are one of the best instructors I have seen on you tube. You are really helping to improve my golf swing on the course. Thanks for that PK
