I’m doing my best Dr Peterson. Every day a little more pain escapes though my tear ducts. Maybe one day before I pass I’ll wake up with a heart that is free from all the burdens that have been placed on it. Or maybe I’ll just have to wait till I show up to heavens gate. Either way, imma gonna keep going. 🤙🏼

I highly recommend a book called Letting Go, by Dr. Richard R Hawkins. It’s about letting go, if emotions be it grief, pride, anger etc.
My personal sense of spirituality is grounded in positive psychology and a kind of Buddhist/Taoist mix. Letting go is incredibly powerful in allowing us to grow and alter how external stimuli influences us.

Failure disappointment regret that had accumulated over a lifetime was dragging me down bad. Then one day I decided I had had enough of it I was being completely self-destructive reliving all these things and going over all these things I simply could not change because they were already done. I saw every one of them as a big rock in a sack that I was carrying. I decided I was no longer going to beat myself up over it anymore I told myself 30 years of this is enough I am done with it. And if anybody that I already knew or anybody that I would meet had a problem with that I would tell them to shut up about it or simply walk away from them. That big sack and all those rocks are still part of my life but I'm not carrying them around anymore. I'm a Christian and what he says is absolutely right. I was able to do that because God told me he already knew everything he didn't have a problem with me anymore the account had been settled to shut up about it that he has always loved me and will always stick with me.

This is the most influential psychological/philisophical human being of my generation and its about time he's given his flowers, or before we know it, they will be awarded on his casket, which in essence, is more of a disregard and disrespect if you ask me....He deserves that, he was the anchor of my fight vs suicide, three years later and I cant even process how dark and deep my entire being had become, I couldnt let go and I was fighting until death. Crazy this journey we get to experience, I love all of you and know each of you have unique, beautiful, and meaningful traits/morals/values (not quirks) within you that will benefit our world, for someone, somewhere, somehow; at sometime, remember that! <3

It’s okay to be afraid of the vicious things in life as long as you take them on and “let” them do their damage from time to time, as necessary. You know, don’t _allow_ your life to fall apart but also accept that bits of it will.

Be willing to let it all go. There has never been a U-Haul behind a hearse.
Sometimes we have to let go of something we like in order to receive something we love.

Thy Kingdom come is Jesus coming back and thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven is the moving of the holy Spirit. That's how I've been learning it and the more you read the Bible the more and more that completely synchronizes with the rest of the Bible. I'm so glad Mr. Peterson found God. Love this guy. He's so brave and wise on so many things.

This notion is in the Bhagavad Gita as well where Krishna says that inaction is worse than blind or impulsive action, and that blind or impulsive action is far inferior to action that is done without attachment to the consequences;

i.e. action that is done "in sacrifice to God" because you are no longer thinking about your own selfish motivations, desires or fears, you do it because it ought to be done. This is a huge sacrifice from the ego that goes against our instinctive nature, and a very conscious tribute to the invincible, capable integrity that we think of as divine

Being in God's graces means having enough control over your life & behavior to not succumb to the normative chaos & impulses both around & within you. It's a very disciplined & active state of being, it's not passive or effortless at all, contrary to the language that we use to describe it. It is a painful sacrifice that we might as well give now before life, or more accurately the consequences of our actions, decides to collect payment & take it away. The fire analogy is spot on 🔥

it is 100% easier to let go if you WANT to let go. i had to stop drugs one day for a job and i was certain i didnt need them. it was so easy to let it go. relapsed and now im right back into the same cycle. but this time i dont wanna let go...it scares me.
