Being a dog owner myself, I herby reveal how this trick is done: I do this trick with my dog at least twice a week (for practicing purpose, and to keep the dog entertained), and my dog always picks the same two cards, no matter how much I shuffle and spread the deck (three of clubs and ace of hearts) - I think it's the same with Jack's dog. So all he had to do was a force routine to make Penn and Teller pick the right cards (look closely and you see how he does it). So, not that big of a deal, you just need one of those dogs.
