Currently a Uni student. My first watch that got me into watches was a vintage gold Citizen 7 automatic which belonged to my late grandfather. Recently I did well in my current year and got a relatively good job and decided to get my first watch a Seiko 5 sports GMT Blueberry. I love it and its constantly on my hand.

Recently purchased the BB36 for my daughter in blue dial and had the case back engraved with “Love you till the end of time DAD. “

I gifted two of my nephews in college, Seiko SRPD95 watches. Under $250, silicone straps, see through case with the 4R movement, it is a such a cool piece. Got them started into their mechanical / automatic watch journey.

Trying to plan for my oldest son’s graduation gift in about 18 months. Leaning heavily toward the Conquest in green, his school’s color. Gorgeous watch!

I just love that you mentioned the Tudor BB36. I fell in love with it when it released and I was still in high school. Now 5 years later and an engineering degree, I have finally made the purchase. The older version with the ETA movement and the beautiful blue dial. A watch for life.

As a student I just got the Bulova Lunar pilot highly recommended if you can get past it’s size. I love how much history is packed into a low price point and looking down at it always makes me smile.

I have been deep into watches for almost 5 years now so, not very green. And I have 3 watches in my collection. And I love these watches, all three get a lot of wrist time and cover every aspect of my day to day life. So, I agree with Teddy when he says “it’s a marathon not a sprint”.

Shout out to Teddy for the intro, helping ppl keep it “Reasonable”, my first piece above 1k (a Bvlgari) put me in a real bad position for a year after I had lost hours at work. I love the watch until this date but I’m not buying anything I can’t at least put half the purchase price down on. With all these fun brands sub 1K, you’ll never run out of options. Take your time with it 💪🏾

The Rado Golden Horse, the Longines Conquest and the Oris BCPD are the stand outs in this group. 😊

Love that Citizen Chandler, used it for many years and was certainly a gateway into watches for me and the variety of movements available. Cool seeing it get some love here

It is very useful for most students to have a watch without a screen. Ideally it would have some sort of timer/stopwatch capability, including a dive watch bezel. Phones are not allowed in tests, and being able to pace oneself in a consistent way takes some stress out of the process. Having to find the clock in each room, and figure out if it's accurate, is unnecessary when the student has their watch on their wrist. It is also helpful with time management when studying, again avoiding the distraction of checking a phone or computer for the time.

Thank you for leaving in Teddy's attempt to say the old Timex slogan!

Student watch? The Gentlemen is a finisher watch! The time piece of gods. The golden god! I am untethered and my rage knows no bounds!

I am blessed to have a preteen son who has inherited my love of watches. He wears his black Casio LRW-200H with pride. Being able to read an analog dial and work a rotating bezel is a "cool skill" among middle schoolers!

Recently gotten the Orient Mako 3. It fits really well on my 6.5" wrist especially after swapping out the bracelet for a Nato. Highly recommended! Real value for money.

As my father always said: "Never buy something you can't afford twice" I used to be a collector, but I liquidated my collection to venture into real estate. In January, I acquired homes in Malibu for $34 million, and the returns on investment far exceed what I earned as a collector.
