I don't buy Seiko watches myself but I wholeheartedly salute everything Seiko does because it makes Swiss brands to do something about it. I'm grateful for sub $500 Seiko 5 GMT mostly because its appearance on a market urged Swiss brands to drop prices for their own GMT models.

Love the dial on that Patek. The GS Kodo takes the #1 spot for me. Incredible piece of horology

15:35 - in reference to the Hamilton - 'I need to contemplate it a little but further because its £820'. This is why Watchfinder is and always will be my favourite watch related channel. Some watches I see on here are amazing - and have amazingly high prices to go with their gorgeous designs, materials & complications.

Some YouTubers will host shows wearing a minimum of £10K on their wrist. They're great and all, but for some a little out of reach.

The line I quoted above is the epitome of why I love this channel. They can be in the same awe as us regular consumers at some of the very expensive timepieces out there, but £820 is a lot of money for a lot of people. To hear it from a host on this channel makes it feel as though they're not world's apart from regular peons who struggle to afford £820 on a wristwatch.

Let's hope 2023 brings us even more timepieces so your dulcet tones can grace my ears once again 😁

Thank you for mentioning Christopher Ward at the end. Their Bel Canto, not to mention their other time pieces, are really doing the watch community a great service. Christopher Ward is demonstrating that you really can infuse time pieces with great Swiss artistry and quality, and still make them financially accessible.

I love that the Seiko 5 GMT has been showing up so much in various top # lists of 2022. Makes it even better when I hear u guys mention it being £400 and I picked mine up for £275, just a bit more than the RRP of the standard Seiko 5!

I could listen to you two guys talk about watches all evening. Looking forward to your videos in 2022! As far as the watches addressed in this video, I loved the Grand Seiko Kodo Tourbillion, the Vacheron Constantin 222, and the Christopher Ward Bel Canto. The Bel Canto is amazing for what they have been able to create for a price that makes it available to the average collector. As for the one I love that I can afford, it's the Hamilton 'Murph' (I have a real soft spot in my heart for Hamiltons).

Great recap of 2022. I’m glad to see the Seiko 5 GMT made the cut! My favorite is the Grand Seiko constant force Tourbillon, it’s a work of art and an engineering masterpiece.

Nailed it with No 1 no risk. The Disruptor. Amazing. One I think you missed: Parmigiani Fleurier Tonda PF GMT Rattrapante. Unique complication in an elegant and understated watch. Sublime piece even if it's the sort of money I spent on my car.

My favourite of 2022 is the Seiko 5KX GMT I managed to bag for £250 quid, in a Black Friday sale.

Totally agree with the Christopher Ward C1 Bel Canto. The rest of the selections are also impressive, and each watch either showed the ingenuity of watch makers and their technical prowess, or their willingness to listen to their customers.

Glad to see the Seiko SKX GMT getting a spot since it is the only watch in the list I could afford & find anywhere 😂 (Well I can also afford and find the Hamilton murph but I don't need a field watch for the moment)
May I also name two watches : Seiko's SSC813 or SSC911 (same style, 911 has bigger dial and some detail differences) as probably the best affordable Rolex Daytona alternative, and Longines Spirit Zulu Time for the style, price and true GMT movement.
And wish all the watch fans reading this comment a fruitful 2023! Keep watch-ing!

Not sure if it was released this year, but the Longines spirit 37 mm really convinced me as a perfect wear for anything. Also, you could ramble just about anything, I'm here for the voice

The Mass Mysterieuse and the Seiko Kodo have been the best surprises this year. In my opinion.

Great to see the Bel Canto getting the recognition it so richly deserves. It's an incredible watch and I'm lucky enough to own number 035 of the 300 blues.

Black Bay Pro is goated, I wish they had gave it a better name, wearing one right now.

The Cartier may look like a head-scratcher, but it appears to be inspired by the Le Rhone Rotary aircraft engine of World War I fame, a German copy of which by Oberusel powered the Red Baron’s Triplane. This engine’s crankshaft was fixed to the aircraft and the cylinder block and propeller spun around it. Seems to me Cartier liked this design concept and used it here.

Lucky enough to pick up a BB Pro earlier this year and have the Turquoise/Light Blue Bel Canto on order. Great review as always. Let’s hope 2023 brings some innovation and that Rolex can think beyond a bezel colour change.
