Microsoft has FIXED Windows 10 KB5001716 Failing to Install with Error 0x80070643

This update for Windows Update Service components was causing issues and was failing to install with the same error as KB5034441. It seems that this issue has now been resolved.

Keep an eye out for fresh content uploaded regularly.

But, still failed to install 2024-01 Security update win 10 22h2 KB5034441 witth error message 0x80070643

Still failing in New Zealand, with the 'official' work-around I'm basically left with the option of either reinstalling windows from scratch with a full format or buying a new hard drive and migrating, hopefully a fixed version rolls out soon as it's getting in the way of OS updates.

I hid the update when it came out a few days ago and was being troublesome.

Now I came to unhide it and maybe try to install it again after watching your video. But it seems it has disappeared from the list of hidden updates I hid using that show/hide updates tool from Microsoft. KB5004441's still in there though, but KB5001716 isn't. And if I check Windows Updates history the entry for KB5001716 failing to Install has also been removed from the history log. And it now only shows KB5001716 having Successfully installed two days ago on March 7th, 2024...

I have no idea there was a bug on march updates, cuz mine only update KB5001716 just once( i always disconnect the internet after done with download), i guess i was lucky didnt get this headche again, still traumatize 441 update. Windows show hide trully be needed now since win 10 near end of service.

I just now checked for updates on my Windows 10 Pro Desktop PC after not having updated for about 4 or so weeks, but KB5001716 is still giving me the Download Error 0x80070643. I'm in Australia.

Dear BrenTech many many thanks for the information provided!!!! I can also confirm that the problem regarding this update is solved! I kept it as hidden for 2 days via using the well known microsoft tool and today when I saw your post, I ran this app so as to unhide it and I noticed that there was no hidden update However, I just want to ask you something about these 2 updates (2023-10 and 2024-03). Before two days I uninstalled the update app via apps and features, you know. and then (after a reboot) I reinstalled both of them via check for updates ...But as we know, in general, it is no good to mess with the process of unistalling windows updates... it is our last resort because this action could harm our PC, regarding newer updates...So, do you think I could have problems regarding other new updates in the future, cause of this action that I made?

Thanks. It's resolved for me. Yesterday, I used MS show/hide update tool . It did hide it. I ran the tool again this morning to unhide it only to find out that there's nothing there
