these influencers are lying to you...
This little guy is honestly a perfect solution for replacing my expensive cryotherapy treatments!
Ever bought an expensive foundation that cost more than your weekly rent, spent countless hours watching YouTube tutorials on how to properly apply it, then tried over and over again to get that flawless, poreless skin with said foundation... only to have your skin look textured, your fine lines emphasised, and your pores enlarged? Let me tell you; there's nothing wrong with YOU. You're not bad at makeup. The foundation is fine. These influencers are lying to you.

What's not fine is the unrealistic expectation influencers and beauty gurus set when they edit and airbrush their pictures to ridiculous standards. These pictures that LOOK real to the naked eye, but have actually been very cleverly edited (usually by professional photoshoppers). These kinds of pictures make normal people feel like there's something wrong with them, when they don't have flawless skin, or when they spend hundreds of dollars on skincare only to have their skin still look like... well... skin.

Some influencers go to great lengths to make their pictures look like they haven't been altered, when in fact they have. Very much so. I hope this video will help you guys spot then a photo has been edited, so that you don't compare your real, beautiful self - to what you see on Instagram.

A small portion of this video has been kindly sponsored by Foreo.

I like to remember that celebrities have said “even I don’t recognize who is on the magazines and I know its me on the cover.”

The thing that messes with me (and I’m sure so many others!) the most is the filtered videos. They look SO real with hardly no signs there even is one besides the subtle occasional glitch with certain movements. It’s perfecting people to a unattainable and unrealistic image. When it’s a photo you can argue photoshop but now with these videos of celebrities posting on their snap/Instagram stories of them chatting with the filter it looks so real, it looks as if they casually recorded then posted straight to their stories. And I’m not just talking about color filter. I’m talking about the ones that make their jaw line snatched or body skinnier or makes their natural face look 100% “flawless” just like a professional photo editor could do to a non moving photo. It’s crazy!

I deleted Instagram and don't use any other social media anymore apart from YouTube, because it messes with my self esteem. Thank you so much for your content, it helps me put things into perspective!!!

There's not only edited looks, but what i think is even more dangerous - the edited lifestyle. All these shots of posing with a cup of coffee, just chilling and flexing 😅

I love that you are bringing this to the forefront. There is WAY TOO MUCH emphasis on trying to look “perfect”

The whole dishonesty is what gets me most. If people want to totally edit their photos & videos that’s fine. But when they play it off as “all natural” when they clearly aren’t it’s super annoying.

I think laws need to be made where influencers and brands state that the photos they are using are edited like this. Haven't thought it through fully, but just an idea. Especially brands and magazines

I was having a breakdown last night because I am 25 and see signs of aging as well as acne scars
I felt like something is completely wrong. As if I am deformed or sick...

Thank you for showing reality... Instagram filters are terrible for mental health.

Another brilliant video that should be viewed by every single person who compares themselves to Instagram pics

These celebrities don't fuck with my head anymore. Nowadays, whenever I see someone with skins and body like these, there's this siren going on in my head "fake" "fake" and I move. Thanks to you❤️

This really screwed with me as a teenager looking through magazines, wondering why the heck I had under eye circles and massive pores. I felt so ugly :( Now I just assume that every face I see on instagram is edited.

Heavy makeup can also make someone’s flaws more emphasized rather than hide them. They all look beautiful either way :)!

I would love to see you " expose" edited pics in kpop or Asia in general...

"there's nothing wrong with having real skin" it's just sad that we even have to say that.

For me one of the biggest dangers of editing is hiding the extreme puffiness of their faces that results from regular fillers. Fillers DO NOT dissolve over time. They stay under the skin for years and may move to adjacent areas a little. But they stay under the skin and regular fillers turn people’s faces into moon-faces. I see this in every single unedited photo of celebs or anyone that gets regular fillers. This is something that’s being hidden from their audience by editing and doesn’t give the correct view of what fillers actually look like in real life!

Hi, I found your videos recently and as a 22 year old I spent probably the last 9-8 years of my life trying to be perfect, but after seeing your videos..I finally can accept myself for me ❤︎
