How To Enable fTPM & Secure Boot - ASUS UEFI BIOS

*Disclaimer* I do not work on PCs for a living, this is a hobby for me, feel free to ask questions that pertain to this video, however I may not have an answer to your particular issue, especially if it isn't relevant to the video topic.

*For windows 11, make sure your BIOS is up to date and supports Windows 11 on your motherboard*

*This can also be used to allow you to play games like Valorant on Windows 11*

This video is intended for PCs that had windows installed with the BIOS in UEFI mode before installation or for PCs that don't have windows installed yet. If you installed windows in CSM mode and are trying to switch it to UEFI mode to turn on secure boot, there is a chance your PC will no longer load windows and will only boot to your BIOS or a black screen, it depends on how your drive was formatted, MBR (Master Boot Record) typically how the drive is formatted for CSM mode or GPT (GUID Partition Table) for UEFI mode.

If you can only boot to windows in CSM mode and your drive is formatted to MBR, you will either need to reinstall windows in UEFI mode to get it to be GPT or run the MBR2GPT tool in windows to convert your drive and system, you can find a video going over this on my channel.

Thank you for posting this and walking us through this. I was pulling my hair out before finding this and was able to breeze through things following your instructions. I really do appreciate your taking the time to make this video!

You're a life savior my friend. I bought a used ASUS Crosshair VIII Formula and for some reason the person I bought it from had Launch CSM Enabled. Your video is the only one that covered that setting in the ASUS bios and I'd spent the last 11 hours trying to get Windows 11 to load onto my new build. This is a full custom loop PC with all EK blocks and parts except fittings and tubing in an O11-XL ROG. All told I probably have $2k wrapped up in this build and it took me the better part of two years to get all the parts. This is not my first build by any stretch but it is a newer one with a lot of features I've never seen like the Launch CSM function. I know I'm very late to the party here but I just had to comment and thank you so much for this video. I've left a like and subscribed before I've even checked if you're still active on the channel as you've more than earned my gratitude. Thank you again for this amazingly simple video that instantly fixed my issues with my fresh install of Windows 11 by changing that one option. I've spent all day watching people use regedit or other means and honestly didn't want to go that route. I did try and get an ISO using Rufus but this rigs so old I couldn't get it or Microsofts own ISO creator to work just constant error messages. I actually splurged and bought an official Win 11 USB for this build thinking that would mean no issues, yeesh was I wrong. That's a lot of words to just say thank you but man you deserve it for remembering the simple rule of KISS, (keep it simple stupid). Thank you again I'll be watching any and all content you drop, take care...

I FIXED MY ISSUE IM SO DUMB. I COMPLETELY WIPED MY WINDOWS DRIVE AND LOST ALL MY STUFF BECAUSE I THOUGHT THAT MY PC JUST COULDNT BOOT ON GPT. Disabling csm allowed my pc to boot right up. Thanks so much you covered what other people didn’t and you deserve my follow🙏🏼

Short and to the point. People make 10 minute videos. 8 of talking and 2 for actually what you’re trying to do. You’re the real mvp

You’re a lifesaver! Just got a new PC build and it let me download Windows 11 completely fine. When I went to boot my PC the next day it took me back to the Windows install page before booting. When I clicked “I don’t have a product key” to skip the option since I already downloaded Windows and entered my product key it said my device didn’t meet the requirements… although I just downloaded it yesterday without issue. Once I made the changes in my BIOS, everything began booting up like normal 🙏🏾

Thank you for the detailed explanation! I just upgraded to a Ryzen 7 5800X3D and had immediate complications with some of my games.

This walk through was fantastic and made it simple to setup.

Good work!

Thank you so much for this. It's my first time building a PC and I was kinda panicking that I picked parts that were too old to reliably run Windows 11. Turns out I just needed to edit some BIOS settings.Cheers

Thanks, my settings were a little different, I think because I recently updated my BIOS firmware, but it was easy enough to follow. I found from another video how to enable GPT but he was using an HP with a different BIOS so I then searched to find your video. Thanks for the great video, so glad you knew what "should" be there, that helped a lot. I though, shit I hope he knows what it "should" look like just as you mentioned it.
