Yamaha Worship Drum Artist Carl Albrecht discusses how to lower on-platform drum volume by selecting the correct cymbals and sticks. He covers the attributes of cymbal sizes as well as “darker” sounding cymbals to help tame out of control stage volume. In addition, he talks about the various options drummers have when it comes to sticks, including bundled sticks and smaller sizes. Carl Albrecht is one of the most recorded worship drummers in the world and actively tours with Paul Baloche, Don Moen and others. He is an active Nashville session player and he and his wife Leann pastor The Well of Nashville on Tuesday nights.

This is great and very helpful. I'm looking into Byzance traditional cymbals and
Had my eyes on the 18 extra thin crash, and 18 medium crash. I really like the sound of them on videos but really dont know the "true" sound and if their good for church settings. Have u experimented with these before? What cymbals would you recommend for a church drummer with a mic'd, or unmic'd kit? Any recommendations on rides as well would be great, too...
