I was on that deployment. My unit was sent to Fallujah, and we spent 20 months running combat operations in the Suni triangle attached to the Marine Corp. I had already spent 3 years as an active-duty infantryman and had served in Bosnia and Kosovo. I had been out of the military for almost 2 years when I received a letter that I was being activated and going to war. I did not want to go, and I was terrified. I had already been honorably discharged from the military and wanted to move on with my life. I went anyways. Because that's what soldier's do. When Waltz was elected as Govenor of my home state of Minnesota myself and others in my unit were disgusted. He is an opportunistic coward who turned his back on his men and his country when they needed him most. We in the 34th infantry division remember, and we know exactly who and what you are. A phony tin soldier who stands on the backs of others sacrifice for his own benefit and power.

My husband was in the Nebraska National Guard and then transferred to the Iowa National Guard. He had already deployed in 2005 when all this happened and ended up going on multiple Middle East deployments to various bases in Iraq. None of those times would he have ever considered bailing on his soldiers or unit. This is just so disgusting.

I’m a retired MSG and Green Beret with 7 combat tours, Waltz is a POS to claim he retired as a CSM. He never went to the Sergeants Major Academy nor does it appear he is receiving a retirement. No one in their right mind would just get out at that rank without a retirement. What a COWARD!

How disgusting and disrespectful to Impersonate a Combat Veteran. This is a jail time offence if you ask me. You can't Impersonate a Doctor, or a cop or a judge, or a lawyer. You will go go jail and or Prison for this offence..

He was in the National Guard for 24 years he served his time. And quite frankly the National Guard shouldn't of even been there.

Walz reenlisted for 6 yrs in 2001, and then reneged and retired in 2005 when Walz might have been deployed to Iraq saying he only signed up for four years! Documents show differently. Shocked his command that he just quit, something no one does. Much less a Sgt. Major! He cut and ran! And now he is up for the VP of the country he betrayed and deserted!
