Unity Shader Graph - Fullscreen Effects Tutorial

On this Unity tutorial we are going to see how to apply effects to the entire screen! Quite useful technique to create a low-life warning for example, or any other status effect (on fire, frozen, shielded, etc).

For anyone wrestling with the Blit script stuff in URP nowadays, you can use "Shader Graph" > "URP" > "Fullscreen Shader Graph" to create a shader specifically for fullscreen shader effects. Put that shader on a material then whatever Renderer you are using add renderer feature "Full Screen Pass Renderer Feature" and add the material to the Pass Material of that feature. Personally I was struggling with the Blit script (Obsolete errors everywhere) until I saw cyan in the update saying that his script is basically obsolete since Unity now has the feature itself.

For those having issues with the effect not being transparent. Inside the shader graph, in the properties, open the settings for the MainTex and change the Reference from MainTex to _MainTex. This solved the issue for me

For anyone still interested in this: starting with Unity 2022, fullscreenshaders are supported by default in URP.

Another way to get the vignette effect: use Tiling and Offset node -> set ist offset to -0.5, -0.5 -> use Length node on the output. From there u can go with power node fe.

If you are using an older version of unity and dont have the "allow material override" option and you only see the screen shader, try this: when you create the texture2D property you have to check the box that says "override property declaration" and in the reference box write "_MainTex".
Im using 2020.3.12f1 and that work for me to see through the shader.

One question that I have is that, in case I didn't want to use Cyan's script, is there a way way to get the frame buffer and apply a shader in it before rendering?
Becuase although Cyan's script really helps us here, it seems that applying a shader effect to the rendered texture (before rendering to the player) is something URP should give us as a native feature, right? haha
